The Stitching Seal

The Stitching Seal Handmade modern crochet items, including commissioned pieces, made with love If these are ever used they will be clearly labelled on my page.

Hi and welcome to the Stitching Seal, thanks for taking the time to have a look at my page. Just a few things I'd like to let you know-
I make all my items myself, by hand using mainly acrylic and man-made fibers. I dont usually crochet using wool or natural furs, purely because of my own ethical beliefs. I create all my items at home. I have a smoke free household but I do have pets. Whilst every

effort is made to ensure pets are kept away from my items, I only have limited space to live and work in. If you have allergies, I would advise you wash any items you purchase before using them. I dont wash items I make before selling them as people also have allergies to certain washing liquids. If you have any questions or queries please feel free to get in touch. Simarlarly, if you're looking for something specific which you can't find available on my page then you're welcome to request items made-to-order and I will do my best to accommodate your requests. Again, thank you for visiting my page, please feel free to like and share as much as you fancy.

I put my latest post box topper out yesterday. Autumn themed using patterns from the book 'Crochet Snails and Mushroom Sprites' by Megan Lapp.

If youre local, head to Charlton Road in Keynsham to see it.

Summer, youve been great (if a little hot at times), but im ready for a change...

The 'ber months are finally here! I love this time of year. The chill in the air, warm jumpers, fluffy socks, blankets, hot drinks and dark evenings. And nature is about to put on the most spectacular show πŸ‚πŸ

Cosy season has arrived and its time to start making for Christmas!

🧑 My Pumpkin Spice blanket is completed! 🧑

Its huge and I love it! Its going to be perfect for chilly autumn evenings on the sofa.

But first its visiting Yarn & Yardage in Kingswood for a while. Head up there and have a look at it if youre in the area. Carly still has some kits left for this CAL so why not grab yourself one and make your own autumn blanket 🍁🍁

I dont know about you, but ive definately felt a hint of autumn in the air in the last few days. Thinking ahead, should I make some more pumpkins? I love pumpkins and enjoy making them, but they dont often sell well....
Im going to try and be more efficient with my makes, only making things that are in demand (or custom ordered). So, over the next few weeks ill be asking your thoughts on things I could make and would really appreciate your feedback 🧑

Ive been trying to decide a few things.....

Firstly, whether to book some stalls in the run up to Christmas this year? Considering all hard work and prep that goes with booking a stall and the fact that I need to start pretty much now to have enough stock.

Secondly, if I do book some stalls, what stock should I make? Do I stick with the soft toys, the same as last year? Should I do more Christmas decorations (which didnt sell well last year) or make more wearables (hats, headbands etc)? How about something else entirely? I did mystery bags last year which sold well but only at 1 event. Should I do a build your own turtle or something similar? Or stocking fillers?

Ideas are very welcome. Picture of one of last years stalls as an idea of my set up

Its much too hot to be working on blankets..... thats a job for the weekend when its cooler, so ive picked up a WIP (Work In Progress) that ive had sat in my project bag for over a year.

This is the back panel for a cardigan I started 2 Christmases ago. Im not great at larger projects, I tend to get bored when theres a lot of repeats, but Iwill finish this cardigan.... one day!

This weeks installment of the Sirdar Pumpkin Spice CAL seemed to take a llllooooonnnngggggg time! It wasn't fun sewing in all the ends from the colour changes, but the finished effect is worth it. 😍
