This surface isn’t painted.
It’s real rust, developed organically on marmorino plaster.
What you’re seeing is the result of time, oxidation, and material chemistry working together—each mark formed naturally, impossible to replicate exactly. The rust reacts with the lime-based plaster to create depth, movement, and a patina that feels both raw and refined.
I’m drawn to finishes like this because they blur the line between craft and nature. No two areas are the same, and that unpredictability is the beauty of it.
A reminder that sometimes the most compelling textures aren’t designed—they’re allowed to happen.
