✂️What an amazing class to finish this year of teaching!✂️

One pattern and three completely gorgeous, totally different interpretations!

One inspired by The Tiger Who Came To Tea for a very lucky little one since it's their favourite book, some cozy autumnal corduroy for a dress ready for picking up pine cones in a forest walk and last but by no means least a fabulous dress from in the rainbows and fruit theme that her little one specifically requested!
Thank you all so much for such a lovely finale to 2023 classes, time to plan them for next year bigger and better than ever!

We've had some gorgeous creations from today's quilt block bonanza and in this post I'm featuring the creations of the two absolute stars Alicia and Natasha who stayed for the whole day and mastered all four blocks- even the tricksy tree block!

It was a joy to see you all grow more confident in your patchwork skills and I'll have to plan some new block classes for the new year to keep up!

🪡 Quilts don't always have to be cotton!🪡

Do you remember all those reversible sequin fabrics from a few years ago? I had some hanging around and thought it would make for the perfect alternative block. Now, this particular example isn't the softest but shows that you can use just about any fabric for patchwork, though some (like jerseys and satins) may need a bit of interfacing to make them behave.

In the block classes on the 21st October (next Saturday!) we will be using quilting weight cotton as it behaves itself, but you can turn those new skills to a wide variety of fabrics!

✂️And she's here! The Buffet Dress sample in all her loose linen glory.

There are so many ways you can change how this simple design looks completely just by switching up the fabric choices- originally I wanted the bodice and sleeves to all be in different fabrics but decided to keep it clean and clear in plain linen to let those lines speak for themselves!

Perfect for kicking through autumn leaves with pockets big enough for keeping all the shiny conkers, this dress is perfect for layering up or by itself in warmer weather.

Two students are already on board for the 4th November, act quick to snap up the last space!✂️

If you've visited Fabrics Plus Ltd and seen the small quilts hanging around or if you follow them on social media you may recognize these blocks from the BOTM project last year!

These have been the quilts that have been the most asked about by far and on Saturday October 21st I will be running an hour class for each block throughout the day so you can pick and choose your favourites or- if you'd like to learn all four- ask about the all day discount!
