We proudly feature Artists & Designers to help promote and support them alongside stocking limited runs of new design items. Viewing is always welcomed in our Bristol studio/showroom. Although we have no set open hours we are usually around to welcome visitors to see what's come through our doors it is best to check first in case we are away on a buying trip.

I’m looking forward to selling in person The Spotlight Market in London on Friday 5th (4–8pm) and Saturday 6th December (10am–5pm)

It’s one of my favourite fairs — bringing together dealers specialising in 20th-century design, antiques, furniture, art and objects inside the atmospheric MKII in Clapton.

I’ll be bringing a selection of 20th-century art and sculpture, chosen especially for the event. I’m also looking forward to sharing the upstairs space with .shop and their refined eye for ceramics.

Downstairs you’ll find an incredible lineup of dealers, each bringing their own distinctive aesthetic and expertise:

A personal favourite: 'Charles' - a quietly arresting tempera painting by renowned British artist David Tindle RA (b. 1932). Its subtlety rewards a slower kind of looking — the intimate, contemplative quality that defines much of Tindle’s work. Available online, accompanied by a blog offering deeper insight into the artist’s life and practice.

Brutalist table or floor lamp by Italian artist Francesco Pasinato. A sculptural piece with a layered, carved wood base featuring large dowel construction and pierced holes, topped with the original enamelled steel shade with perforated detailing. Beautiful up- and down-light that emphasises its form.
Professionally rewired and PAT tested. Shade included.

Philip Mathews (1916–1984)
Still Life with Milk and Lemon – oil on canvas

Mathews captures a quiet domestic moment with sensitive handling of light and exquisite restraint.

An Irish-born painter trained at the Royal College of Art, Mathews moved in the same post-war circles as John Minton and Keith Vaughan, sharing their sensitivity to atmosphere and structure. His work is held in collections including Tate Britain, IMMA, and The Ulster Museum.

After a little pause from Instagram, I’m pleased to be back sharing new pieces with you.

The shop has just had a fresh stock update, and I couldn’t wait to show you this one — Dyad 1 by Sax Impey RWA (b1969). It’s a striking large-scale canvas layered with paint, mark-making, and two vertical lead strips beneath the surface.

Impey’s work often explores elemental forces — sea, weather, light, and contrast. This early piece also comes with provenance from the family of St Ives artist Roy Walker.

Now available at hutt, with fully insured UK delivery (in my usual eco-friendly packaging ).
