As part of the Beaumaris Modern. festival, I was part of their ‘good, better, best’ game. Where collectors and enthusiasts shared their knowledge on a certain relevant subject. Mine was eye ball lamps.
If you attended, you’ll recognise my selection.

Here are the three lamps I chose in order.
Best- my own personal lamp by Philips. 1960s glass on chrome plinth.
Better- red magnetic lamp by Goffredo Reggiani, Italy c,1960s.
Good- cream magnetic lamp Concentra Agilo T40 by Schlagheck & Herbert H. Schultes. Munich, Germany c,1977.

Available-
A stunning & rare vintage armchair by corner-stone furniture designer; Bruno Mathsson. Model Mirja, manufactured by DUX, Sweden c,1960-1970s.
Pictures of before & after restoration.

Fully restored in a deep-tan leather upholstery, tufted seat & back-rest. Purchased on a fine chrome base.
The DUX logo embroidered fabric has been retained, under the cushion and bottom cover.

Camphor Laura wood- a natural wood with deters pests/ insects while emitting an aromatic smell. Finished in natural hard wax oil, a product which is environmentally safe for you and for your pets.

An absolutely charming Japanese Edo/ Meji period haribako sewing / calligraphy box.
In Keyaki (red Elm). Large red figured wood patterns for attractive draw fronts.

Just finished!
See the transformation from this very uninspiring pair of ropey armchairs, which were hiding massive potential.

They certainly were the diamond in the rough!

Remember that cute oak cord side chair?
It’s had its overhaul. With a new piece of oak carefully grafted into position. With was done by not removing the original cord, but by carefully working around it and hold it back with screws. See pictures.

The rest of the chair received a deep clean and wax. Repairs made to the frame. New plug buttons made in oak.
One happy chair ✔️🪑
