Have you spotted the hoops outside of Bristol Children’s Hospital glowing green this week? 💚

The colour change marks International Adolescent Week, a global celebration of young people and their wellbeing.

To mark this occasion, our Arts Unleashed team has been running a fantastic programme of activities on Apollo Ward, from stop-motion animation and willow dreamcatcher workshops to t-shirt stencilling and live music sessions. With something for everyone to enjoy, it’s already been a wonderful week of creativity. ✨

For a change, we had some time away from the office today, and a pleasure to meet up with the Construction Line Gold team. Also some good networking with fellow clients and suppliers at Ashton Gate Stadium.

We were privileged to deliver a lot of the stadium lighting when it originally re-opened and it was also great to see it all still working well.

A Connected Light Case Study: CICU Lighting & Controls Upgrade

This has been an ongoing phased delivery project for the BHI, which has dramatically improved the CICU department. The inclusion of the human centric lighting has made a great talking point and has provided a rewarding effect for the users of the space.

Following the LIA ICEL conference last week and the positive increase in requests for our 5 year photometric verification services, we wanted to re-share our service page.

This provides the latest requirement for lux level testing and recording, following the latest update of BS5266-1:2025.

It is a service to support all client sectors, including end users, contractors, FM's and building owners.

As always, it’s a pleasure to attend the ICEL Emergency Lighting Conference in London.

We were also truly honoured to be invited to speak at today’s event, of which Richard A Bolton did a great job delivering a showcase of our services and covering the topic of ‘Challenges in Emergency Lighting Design’

Emergency Lighting Compliance, Competence and Design, these being our major strengths of expertise, have been very well received to understand the importance of what we do in our industry.

It was also great to see the leading industry manufacturers supporting the event and was good to catch up with so many colleagues.

Very interesting to hear the new updates and proposed important changes for legislation, especially ‘Photometric Verification’ which is one of our main service offerings to support the new requirements to the BS5266 5 yearly checks.

The ICEL Emergency Lighting Conference is an exclusive gathering, for key stakeholders within the industry for designers, specifiers, manufacturers, installers and end users.

With the increase of more stringent standards and latest requirements for compliance within emergency lighting, improved regulation for design and the manufacturing of products have evolved.

The ICEL conference is a great event to hear more about the latest developments in standards, compliance, design, maintenance, technology and best practice, with presentations from leading experts across the sector.
