Today was the last day of the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, and the end to an amazing chapter in my life and career. Being included on The One Show and followed on my journey of what I thought was going to be another year of rejection, to being shown my work on the wall by the lovely Alex Jones. The painting is off to its new home in London, and one day maybe I can start to believe it wasn’t all just a dream.

BTA Miniature Masters for MND – The Exhibition

I’m delighted to announce that on Sunday 16th August at 9am, the BTA Miniature Masters Virtual Exhibition, showcasing an incredible collection of miniature artworks created by talented artists from around the world will be going live on my website!

The exhibition runs 16th August – 30th September 2026 and is held in aid of the MND Association, helping to support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease, while celebrating the beauty and skill of miniature art.

Why MND?
I have chosen to raise money for the MND Association after losing two people who were incredibly close to me over the past three years—both of them strong, inspiring women whose courage left a lasting impact on my life.

Witnessing first-hand the devastating effects of motor neurone disease (MND) and the speed at which it can take hold has shown me just how cruel this illness is. More than ever, I want to support the MND Association in the vital work they do, providing care, guidance, and support to people living with MND and to the families who stand beside them. I also hope that, through fundraising and continued research, we can help move closer to a future where an effective treatment—or ultimately a cure—is found.

Every sale in the exhibition will make a meaningful difference. 20% of all sales will be donated to the MND Association.

As well as supporting a fantastic cause, many artists have created pieces especially for the exhibition, making this the first time these works have ever been shown.

After months of organising and countless hours spent creating the works by the incredible 30+ artists involved, I’m so excited to finally share the exhibition with you all.

'Little Bad Girl', written, produced and performed by Vincent Michael Brown.

I am primarily an artist, painter, working mainly with portraiture, but also songwriter and musician.

During my work as an artist I was commissioned to paint a portrait of three ‘Aardman Animation’ directors, and as a result I became interested in stop-motion animation. During my studies I discovered the work of pioneering stop-motion animator, ‘Wladyslaw Starewicz (Ladislas Starevich)’.
This is an edit of the 1933 work, ‘Fétiche Mascotte’, also known as Duffy the Mascot, created with his daughter - Irene Starewicz. It follows a lovable little dog puppet who goes on a surreal, nightmarish journey to find an orange for a sick child.

The song is my own composition and performed entirely by myself, written as a homage to ‘The Ink Spots’, who were an American vocal pop group who gained international fame in the 1930s and 1940s.

Brilliant news! This painting of mine (The Holehouse Portrait) 74x74cm - has been selected for the Autumn exhibition at the Royal West of England Academy of art (RWA), in Bristol. I've also been invited to talk about this and my other selected painting on the John Darvall show on BBC Radio Bristol Wednesday 12 August at midday. This is an acrylic portrait of two great friends Lynne and Martyn Holehouse, who ran the Cherry Art Centre art shop and gallery in Longwell Green. The first time I met them I was a teenage very skint artist who wandered in and asked if they could give me some paints for free, so I could paint a picture to sell to get the money to pay them. Amazingly they agreed, and we've been great friends ever since. For my first solo exhibition in 2004, Martyn framed the entire show for free to help me out. They've always been so supportive and the nicest people you could ever meet. Lynne is also a fantastic artist, and was a finalist on the TV show 'Watercolour Challenge'.
The exhibition opens on the 12th of September and runs until the 3rd of January. It's always a fantastic show. The RWA were the first major gallery to show my work way back in 1999, and have been a major part in helping me form my career.
The painting is packed full of symbolism, and was inspired by 'The Arnolfini Portrait'.
