Sometimes, the right flooring can make a real difference to someone's day. 💚

We were contacted by an independent living charity who needed to replace the carpet in a space used by a wheelchair user. The carpet was making it difficult to move around, so a more practical solution was needed.

We got to work replacing it with commercial LVT planks, providing a smooth, hard-wearing surface that's easier to keep clean and more suitable for the space.

With a quick turnaround needed, we're really pleased we could help get this sorted.

It's a good reminder that flooring isn't just about how a room looks. It's about how well it works for the people who use it every day.

A big thank you to the charity for getting in touch and trusting Rivendell to help. 😊

Doing what we do best... 👌

There’s a bit more to a great LVT floor than simply sticking the planks down.

This one involved plenty of subfloor preparation and latexing to get everything smooth and ready for the LVT. Then came the fun bit, laying the wood effect planks in this lovely herringbone pattern.

And we think the finished floor looks rather good! 😍

A lot of the work that goes into a flooring project isn't always the bit you see at the end, but getting the preparation right makes all the difference.

Another job well done by the Rivendell team.

Got a floor that needs a little TLC before the nice bit? Give us a shout.

One of our LVT suppliers we love working with 👌

We work with a lot of flooring manufacturers, and J2 Flooring is one of the ones we regularly turn to when we're looking for LVT.

And we love LVT because it's just so versatile.

It can give you the look of timber or stone, but with the durability and practicality needed for busy homes and commercial spaces.

Whether it's a herringbone for a hallway, a wood-effect plank for an office or something a little more hard-wearing for a busy commercial environment, there are loads of options to work with.

The important bit for us isn't just choosing something that looks good.

It's choosing the right LVT for the space, how it's going to be used and how it needs to perform.

That's where 25+ years of flooring experience comes in.

So if you're thinking about LVT for your home, school, office or commercial space, give us a shout. We can help you work out what will actually work.

And yes... there are a LOT of samples to choose from! 😂

No job is too small. 👌

Not every flooring job is a whole school, office or house. Sometimes it's just a cupboard!

We recently popped into a school to give this little space a flooring refresh, and we're really pleased with how it's turned out.

It might be a small job, but if it makes a space cleaner, smarter and more practical, then it's worth doing.

We're always happy to help with the big projects, the small jobs and everything in between.

So if you've got a flooring job you've been putting off because you think it's "too small", give us a call. You might be surprised! 😊

A fresh start from the floor up. ✨

There's something really satisfying about giving a whole property a new lease of life. We've recently completed a full flooring refresh in this HMO, replacing tired, worn flooring throughout the building with a fresh new finish that's ready for its next chapter.

In shared properties, flooring has to work hard. It needs to be durable enough to cope with constant footfall, practical to maintain, and still create a space that feels clean, bright and welcoming for the people living there.

From room to room, this project has completely transformed the feel of the property, and we're really pleased with the finished result. 📸

If you're a landlord or property manager planning a refurbishment, we'd be happy to help you find flooring that's built to last and looks the part too.

A fresh floor can completely change the feel of a room. ☀️

We recently completed this transformation at Fenhurst, replacing the existing flooring with Hay Bale Plank LVT, and we're delighted with the result.

The before and after photos say it all. The new floor has completely lifted the space, giving it a lighter, fresher feel that's perfect for the summer months.

LVT is a brilliant choice for busy homes and commercial spaces alike. It gives you the look of natural wood, while being hard-wearing, easy to maintain, and built to cope with everyday life.

Have a scroll through the photos to see the transformation from start to finish. It's always satisfying to look back and see just how far a space has come. 📸

Thinking about giving your home or workplace a refresh? We'd be happy to help you find the right flooring for your space.

It's always nice to see a before and after... but it's even nicer when it's for a good cause. 💚

We've recently completed some new flooring at Bristol Children's Scrapstore, and we're really pleased with how it's turned out.

The before and after photos show just what a difference new flooring can make, creating a brighter, more welcoming space for the amazing work they do every day.

We've worked with the Scrapstore for a little while now, donating our old carpet and flooring sample books so they can be given a second life through schools, charities and community groups. Being able to help improve their own space as well felt like the perfect next step.

The lovely feedback we received made our day:
"The colour is lovely. We're hoping to do more in the future, and thank you for organising it to be done so quickly."

Thank you to everyone at Bristol Children's Scrapstore. We're looking forward to working together again and seeing what we can create next. 😊

Not everything has to end up in a skip ♻️

Every so often, we update our carpet and flooring sample books. Most are still full of colour, texture and inspiration, but they're no longer current for our showroom.

Rather than throwing them away, we donate them to Bristol Children's Scrapstore, a fantastic local charity that gives materials a second life through creative play and learning.

The Scrapstore takes all sorts of surplus materials and redistributes them to schools, nurseries, community groups and charities, helping children learn, create and explore while reducing waste at the same time.

We love the idea that a carpet sample that has finished its journey with us might end up being used in a classroom project, an art activity or something completely unexpected!

As a business, we're always looking for ways to do things a little more thoughtfully. Sometimes the small things can make a bigger difference than you realise.

A big thank you to the team at Bristol Children's Scrapstore for the amazing work they do in our community 💚

This job started with a packet of dog biscuits... 🐶👀

No, really.

Let's just say that sometimes business development doesn't always happen the way you expect!

We've recently completed new carpet and flooring at the Markson offices, giving both the office space and kitchen area a much-needed refresh.

The new flooring has completely smartened up the space and created a brighter, more welcoming environment for the team. It's always satisfying to see how much of a difference new flooring can make, especially in areas that get used every single day.

This was a lovely project to be involved with from start to finish, and we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone at Markson for choosing us.

And as for the dog biscuit story... we'll leave that there for now 🐾

**If you're curious, drop a comment below and we might just tell you how a packet of dog biscuits led to a flooring project!**

Marmoleum is one of the most underrated flooring products out there 👀

Most people think flooring is simply a case of choosing a colour and fitting it.

With Marmoleum, there's so much more you can do.

Borders, patterns, zoning, geometric designs, bespoke inlays... it's one of the few flooring products that gives you the freedom to get really creative and make a space completely your own.

We've used it in hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, offices and all sorts of commercial spaces, and we're always amazed by the different ways it can be brought to life.

The other thing we love? It's practical too. Hard-wearing, easy to maintain, comfortable underfoot, and made from natural raw materials.

It's proof that flooring doesn't have to be boring.

Have a look through some of the Marmoleum projects we've completed and let us know which is your favourite ✨
