Bristol Blue Glass was founded back in 1988 by James Adlington, with the help of glass maker Peter St Clair. The aim was to re-establish a tradition that had been lost for over 60 years - the art of glass-making. Twenty-nine years on, at Bristol Blue Glass, we still endeavour to keep the tradition alive. We develop our makers and their skills as we go, adding new products to our range following cu

stomer demand and the tendencies of our Makers. All our work is hand free blown, without the use of molds and although we are most famous for our traditional Bristol Blue Glass, our work also includes our Ruby range and sculptural items. In our friendly Studio Shop you will find a wide variety of art glass in a host of amazing colours. Please browse through our products online or, come and visit our Studio and Shop to watch our skilled and happy Glass makers at work and see unique pieces in the making. We have been imitated by Charlatans throughout our existence and this continues, to this day - beware pale imitations.

Well, that's it from us at Bristol Blue Glass! 👋

All glass has sold, apart from a few bits which are heading to Exmoor Glass. 🥰
Bristol Museums has taken some historic museum glass for their collection. 🙏

Bath Road has been stripped bare, painted, hoovered and mopped so much you would hardly know we were ever there... apart from the HUGE BBG sign! That, unfortunately, was not wanted by anyone! 🫣 (Just too big❗️)

We will post up some customer pics tomorrow, to show all the new homes our glorious glass has gone to. And, amazing experiences you had on the hotfloor 📸

But, as of Monday June 1st, that is all of us looking for work! So, if you know of anything that may suit any of us chuck it our way! 😅 Although, I do think we all need a rest first after the craziness of the last few weeks! 🤪

And then there's me... you don't see me much. I much prefer to be behind the posts, not in them!

Going to miss the chat, the banter, the lovely comments (even the not so lovely! 😅). You lot have been amazing! It's been a blast and the best job EVER! Have loved every second here... but all good things come to an end, one way or another!

There will be a few more posts over the weekend while we wrap things up, and after that who knows!
