Been totally immersed in a very hands-on project in beautiful north Wales for the past month 🤩 Dreamy location & fab clients who have given me the freedom to get creative!🙏🏻 (Think seaweed pressing & beach finds!)
A few ‘After’ pics of the almost finished under-the-stairs loo (and a couple of ‘Befores’ if you scroll to right to the end! It defo needed some love!) Just got to find the perfect vintage tiles to complete the look… 💚💚 More pics to come!

Goodbye to India 🇮🇳 I’ll definitely be back!

We’ve been back home (and in denial about it!) for a while. Still replaying the videos and looking at the photos to sustain me through our miserable, wet winter!! India and its people are vibrant, full of surprises, chaotic, colourful, noisy, irrepressible and absolutely incomparable to anywhere I’ve been before! Can’t recommend it highly enough 🇮🇳🪷🧡🤍💚

P U S H K A R

I loved every minute of our time in Pushkar - the most intensely spiritual, noisy, exuberant, vibrant place I’ve ever visited!! 💛 Small, laid back, hippy-ish with a beautiful sacred lake it its centre. We were lucky enough to be there on a full moon so the atmosphere & energy were truly amazing 🌕
Took about 3 million pics - here’s a few! (Play the videos with volume to truly appreciate the constant noise - always something going on in Pushkar!)

Browsing with the cows
Meeting Pravesh - talented & passionate wooden print block carver
My dream come true - seeing a Hindu wedding party with the groom on his white horse!
Shopping for bangles and bags!
Full moon ceremony by Jaipur Ghat on the lake
Cool cafes - shoes left downstairs and cushions on the floor
Decorative gates to the camel fair
Our beautiful Haveli for 3 nights
Beer served ‘unofficially’ disguised in china tea mugs!!
Yoga café 🧘🏼‍♂️
Even the refuse collectors play music loudly from speakers on top of their truck (this was at 6.30am - India never sleeps!🤣)
Vegetarian food only in Pushkar - heaven 😋
Pravesh’s beautiful blocks
Temples everywhere
Sunset lake

A J M E R
Last minute decision to have a night in Ajmer before our next stop, Pushkar. So glad we did! Friendly, full of contrasts and with a spiritual energy that is intense. Some parts of Ajmer feel like they haven’t changed for centuries - and others that are disconcertingly modern…!

🧁 Crazy cakes at local hangout The Mango Masala! Red velvet cake & a great cappucino ☕️
👟Shoes at the door for our visit to one of Rajasthan’s most spectacular Jain temples. Beautiful marble tiles throughout - chilly on the toes!!
🛕 One of the most lavish temples I’ve ever visited! Over a ton of gold was used in creating the dioramas depicting the Jain vision of the ancient world. Wow!
🕌 Being swept along by devotees towards the Dargah (tomb) of India’s most important Sufi saint Khwaji Muin-ud-din Chisti, who spent a lifetime preaching of tolerance, charity and compassion.
🌺Flower offerings en route
🏛️Relaxed Friday eve vibes! Enjoying sunset over Ana Sagar lake with families in their finest taking selfies (many with us!! 🤣) amongst the beautiful marble pavilions.
🍕Back to Mango Masala for dinner overlooked by….Big Ben!!!!? 😂 Excellent pizza brought out the smiles!
😊Formal goodbye pics with our wonderful host Rishi

J O D H P U R 💙

Back in Rajasthan - yay! Impossible to do the beautiful blue city of Jodhpur justice in 20 pictures! Fell in love with it the minute we landed at its gorgeous little blue & white airport! 💙🤍💙🤍
Clearer air and quieter roads decorated in street art for kilometres - a delight after busy, polluted Delhi.
Our haveli in the heart of the old city was an absolute dream - a riot of colour and bedroom walls hand painted from floor to ceiling in floral designs. Even the wooden beds painted to look like peacocks 🦚 Could wax lyrical about Jodhpur for ages! 🤣
Quick photo dump…

💙Dogs outside tattoo parlour (actually one of the downsides of Jodhpur - dogs a bit more feisty!)
💙Beautiful Jodhpur airport & colourful street art
💙 Our stunning home for 2 nights Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli. Heaven and all for £24 a night for 2 people!!
💙Beautiful textiles everywhere you look! Eyes on stalks most of the time!! 🤣
💙A welcome pancake breakfast at Sam’s Art Cafe - yum 😋
💙Amazing Mehrangarh - a must visit fort that watches over the city, fascinating elephant chairs (howdahs) and a guide keen to get his splendid beard on camera!
💙Best shop in Jodhpur for vintage lovers .arts. Full of old Indian treasures with lovely owners (pictured packaging up my purchases🤣)
💙Chillis hanging on gates & doors in city to ward off evil
💙Amazing street art everywhere!
💙Delicious dinner at Jhankar Haveli Restaurant

A quick hop to Delhi en route to Jodhpur….
Don’t think we really did Delhi justice, but it was such a contrast to the India we’d experienced so far - a massive, busy, impersonal modern city! Plus it was cold!! And quite rainy! And the air pollution was terrible. We enjoyed our stay for different reasons…

Emerging from slick Delhi Metro to usual cacophony of rickshaw and car horns! 🛺
🌳Welcome to middle class India - leafy Saket. Couldn’t get a bigger contrast to our last location! Doesn’t feel like India! 😕
Our homestay with lovely Sanjeev and daughters
We got a dog fix!! 🐶 There are loads of street dogs in India that we’ve had to resist touching. Their cute little ‘Jellybean’ was a welcome treat!
🍔 Our hosts thought we’d like the local fast food hangout!! 🤣 (there was also a McDonalds, Subway, Dominoes and KFC!) We didn’t!
Checked out the twinkly lights of Hauz Khas village instead. Also weird - but in better way!
Went to ridiculously fancy mall to buy Ed a coat - chilly razzing around in rickshaws!! 🤣 Got a Buddha bowl for lunch - my first ‘fresh’ food since leaving home 😋 😋 💚
Bamboo scaffolding being delivered by push bike and trailer. It’s still India 🇮🇳 🧡🤍💚
🩷Women only carriages on the Delhi metro - great idea!
Wise words on our hosts noticeboard 🪷

We’re catching a flight to Jodhpur next - The Blue City. Can’t wait …. 💙💙💙💙

Taj Time!!!! Agra is all about the beautiful Taj Mahal. Despite having seen endless photos of it over the years nothing prepares you for how impressive it is IRL! Best seen at sunrise or sunset - we opted for the early start…
Early chai on our chilly dawn walk to the Taj gates.
First glimpse through the archway 😍
Just wow!!!!
‘I’m actually standing in front of the Taj Mahal’ - a pinch me moment!!!
Worth the early start for the colours of sunrise 🌅
Sunlight through the marble filigree ☀️
Beautiful botanical carving in the marble and the red sandstone and stunning Pietra Dura - marble inlaid with precious stones - everywhere! Bonkers!!
Post-Taj chai and pancakes Agra
Afternoon at Agra fort
Monkey on the roof of our homestay - you can just see Taj in distance
Photos with friendly locals in front of the I ❤️Agra sign before getting on our sleeper train to Delhi…

Train from Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park near Sawai Madhopur for tiger spotting 🙏🏻🐅🤞🏼
Early dawn pick up from Tiger Haveli by our jeep.
Desperately hoping to spot one of the 80 or so tigers that live there amongst the atmospheric ruins of a 10th century fort 🐅
Only a few pics with my rubbish mobile camera - took most on my big camera with long lens! Spotted one tiger slinking off into the forest - and didn’t have my camera ready!! 🤣🙈
Great morning in beautiful setting - saw lots of crocs, bird life, a leopard and the wonderfully entertaining langurs (sacred monkeys in Hindu religion).
Only one train to Agra (and Taj Mahal!) that day, so taxi picked us up from park gate and drove like Lewis Hamilton get us to the train station on time - literally without taking his hand off the horn!!! 😱🤣🏎️🏁
Next stop - a homestay in Agra and the Taj!

Jaipur - A few highlights from The Pink City 🌸💗

🏰The amazing ‘gingerbread’ house that is Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds)
🛺Nothing prepares you for the madness of Jaipur’s roads! Exhilarating in a rickshaw to say the least!! Sacred cows thrown into the mix!
🌼Relative tranquility of the wholesale flower markets
🐒Cheeky monkeys stealing treats from the fruit & veg market!!
🌿The beautiful Amber Fort - took about a million photos of walls and ceilings painted with flowers & foliage!
🧘🏼Our lovely hotel for the first 2 nights (easing ourselves in gently - we’re budget backpackers after this!!! 🤣) - such a welcome oasis after a busy day out in Jaipur 🙏🏻
🪁 We just missed the kite festival but still evidence of kites everywhere - this one dancing around in the tree to the morning call to prayer.
🚆 Catching a train to Sawai Madhopur next for an early dawn safari. Hope we spot a tiger! 🙏🏻🐅

See you in a couple of weeks beautiful, bonkers Jaipur! 🐄🪁🚗 Back to do some block printing and shopping before we fly home!
