A closer look reveals the details that make this kitchen truly special. ✨

Curved drawer fronts in reeded ash, beautifully finished with solid London plane inserts.

The gentle curve flows seamlessly around the individually integrated Novy hob, set into the stone worktop, with ash tambour doors beneath.

A thoughtful interplay of natural materials, sculptural forms and meticulous craftsmanship, where every detail has its place.

Creating a bar that felt as though it had stood at the heart of the pub for centuries was the starting point for this project.

Working alongside our friend and design partner Darrinmcmullen we took inspiration from 17th-century oak furniture, carefully considering every detail, from the proportions and mouldings to the traditional methods of construction and finishing.

The steam-bent mouldings, solid oak worktops and handcrafted panelling were coloured using ground walnut husks and a bespoke alcohol stain before being polished and finished with beeswax, giving the oak the rich patina and warmth of genuinely aged timber.

The finished result feels completely at home at The Norman Knight where every part of the interior has been thoughtfully considered. If you’re visiting the Cotswolds, it’s well worth stopping in, the food is exceptional, and the atmosphere is exactly what a proper country pub should be.

A handcrafted, convexed bookcase follows the contours of the banquette seating below, creating a sense of space and continuous flow.
Look a little closer, though, and you’ll spot something unexpected… 👀

Nestled amongst the books and treasures are our hand-built lacewood speakers, carefully designed to sound as beautiful as they look. 🔉

Would you have spotted the speakers?
