This should have been posted a week ago! But if you have a chance to visit the Broadway Arts Festival the exhibition of art finishes tomorrow 4th October.
I was honoured to be a judge for the Best Local Artist Prize, and along with my co judge, Claire Henley, agreed that Dawn of the Sparrows by Carren Lu was our favourite.
Congratulations to Carren and to all the shortlisted artists.
It's a fabulous exhibition of very high standard. I urge you to make time to go. You never know, you might find something to add to your home!

The exhibition is on at Bretforton Theatre Barn, Bretforton.

Recently back from an amazing study trip with the Furniture History Society to various historic houses in Norfolk. We also visited the NT Textile Conservation Studio which was fascinating.

This is a beautiful piece of 18th century cabinet making from the Golden Age of Satinwood, 1765-1800. The colour of the satinwood along with the cross banding and inlays in purple heart shouts great design and quality. What a brightly coloured piece of furniture this would have been when first made. The quality of the piece is exceptional. I will be taking this to the forthcoming LAPADA Antiques Fair at Berkeley Square, London 28 October to 1 November. We hope to see you there.

This fabulous small to***co box was retailed by S. Van Raalte & Sons who had premises at 199 Piccadilly. Scroll through the images to see a photo of the shop we found online.
So lovely to retain its label allowing us to know its history! Made of oak and bound in brass, it is beautifully made. This is now on our website and in our showroom in Broadway in the North Cotswolds.

I cannot stress the importance of buying your antiques from dealers who are members of a trade association. We are members of The British Antiques Dealers Association, The Association of Art &Antiques Dealers and finally as we are now based in the glorious Cotswolds, .
All our items for sale are labelled with full descriptions of the article as well as price.
Please do call in if you are in the area even if it’s just to browse. We open currently Monday to Friday 10.30-5pm, Saturday 10.30-4pm. Look forward to seeing you soon!
