Our partnership with NuGen Recycling โป๏ธ
We thought as part of Second Hand September, we would give a little bit of background on how we started!
For any new followers, or anyone who may not know, we get all of our stock from local sustainable clearance company NuGen Recycling. They started out in January 2020 (JUST before COVID & the lockdownsโฆgreat timing!!) with the goal of turning the property clearance industry into something more eco-conscious - rather than items ending up in landfill like many other companies would do, NuGen have a commitment to zero-waste-to-landfill! They either upcycle, recycle, donate items collected from clearance workโฆor the items come to us at The Salvage Yard ๐๐ผโป๏ธ The name NuGen comes from them being the original company in hopefully a โnew generationโ of a more eco-friendly approach to property clearance work.
From one small shipping container a few years ago, we now have our massive (although not massive enough! ๐ฉ๐) warehouse in Broxburn, where we now manage to rehome an amazing amount of items. What we do - and what started out as a little idea & dream a few years ago - wouldnโt be possible without the partnership with NuGen! Weโve become more than just a business, weโre a communityโฆwe couldnโt be more grateful to our customers, many who have become friends, for their continued support. Whether coming in to buy, browse, rummage or just for a chat! ๐
If youโd like to see more of what NuGen do, you can check out their page here - NuGen Recycling and Environmental Solutions
Give them a followโฆtheyโre really quite great, show them some love! ๐๐คฉ๐
