Perfect stress relieving activity. The therapeutic benefits of working with soft clay on the potter‟s wheel are considerable. Participants often leave the studio on Sunday afternoon feeling totally de-stressed and with an overwhelming sense of well-being. “We both thoroughly enjoyed the session as we learnt so much in just a few hours. If anyone is looking for something different, new, fun and not done before then we would thoroughly recommend this experience. We have already told some of our friends and work colleagues about it.We were both made extremely welcome by both of you and the studio, surroundings and your friendliness made everything perfect for both of us.Your approach to demonstrating and teaching us new practical skills was also a pleasure with your laid back and easy going approach. The light lunch was also excellent (more than enough to eat) and it was nice to chat to you both.We would both love to have another go especially the throwing and will recommend it to anyone.Looking forward to seeing our creations in a few weeks time. Finally thank you for the action photos of our day - absolutely fab

Once again thank you both very much, and look forward to meeting again” commented a recent punter. Potter’s Wheel Day or Weekend Workshops
Spend a relaxing day or weekend making pots on the potter’s wheel. Small friendly groups and 4 electric potter‟s wheels ensure plenty of individual attention and guidance. You will explore a whole range of making techniques based upon the potters wheel including: throwing, turning, attaching handles & motifs and decorating methods using under-glaze and coloured slip. Content

Day 1

The workshop starts at 10am. After tea/coffee, introductions and initial demonstration you will be taken as a group, step by step, through the pot throwing process. Once you have got the hang of things, you will be encouraged to develop at your own pace with individual tutoring as and when required. Around 1pm, a light lunch consisting of bread, cheese, salad and fruit is served. In the afternoon there will be further demonstrations after which you will work larger lumps of clay, make bigger pots and explore different shapes and forms. At the end of the day and once the wheels have been cleaned, you will select 1 or 2 of your best pots to be left at the Pottery for firing and glazing. The remaining wet pots can either be re-claimed or taken away on the day at cost. If you are participating in the weekend workshop, the results of your labour from day one will be left to dry overnight. Day 2

Your pots from Saturday are now “leather-hard‟ and ready to be turned. After a demonstration you will learn how to throw foot-rings, add handles and other motifs. Colour can be added at this stage using an exciting range of coloured under-glazes and decorating slips. Following lunch participants choose from the range of demonstrated techniques to finish 3-5 pots (dependant on weight) to be left for firing and glazing. The workshop concludes with a brief review of each others achievements and creativity. The weekend ends at 5pm. Your fabulous creations will be left with us to dry thoroughly before they go into the kiln. Once they have been fired and glazed, we‟ll carefully wrap and dispatch your finished pots to your home address. You will be delighted at the professional results when they arrive on your doorstep approximately one month later. Cost: £85 a day £155 weekend. Includes refreshments, lunch, all materials, firing, glazing and the cost of posting your finished masterpieces. No Remaining dates for Spring 2015:
