Join me for a Sunday morning opening up of the Breakfast Room….complete with more creaking floorboards and doors.

It’s called that now but was originally probably an intimate Dining Room or Morning Room when originally built in 1707.

It was also the Staff Room when it was Earsham Hall School (the Boys’ School from 1948-1973) when the gorgeous panels were painted a thick letterbox red, gloss paint 😳.

In the Victorian period it was Helena Meade’s study (The Lady of the House) ….she would sit at her desk facing the front of the house….when a guest would call and the Butler answered the front door, he would know Mrs Meade’s reaction to the visitor…if she was sitting at her desk she was happy to receive the person…if she was underneath the table he knew she was NOT 🫣😝👌🏼

Stories abound here and we love sharing them!

And do comment if you can tell signs of how cosily warm this room can get in the winter…and it’s not the fireplace…🤔 and it involves a droop 😝.

Have a lovely Sunday…a bit cooler now 🤗

Join me on the morning “Opening Up” of The Drawing Room here . Originally this was two rooms, and was made into one in the 1890s when the then owners Helena and John Percy Meade were making lots of alterations to their home.

This was also where all the school boys had their assemblies and held their theatre performances (the holes in the floor for the stage are still there) when Earsham Hall was Earsham Hall School from 1948-1973.

On a peaceful, sunny morning like today the quiet almost allows you to hear all those voices from the past 300 years….🥰

Another changeover in The Gardener’s Cottage Earsham Hall between lovely guests and another chance to share with you some sneaky peeks inside 😍

Designed to allow guests to really feel that they are staying in their very own bolt hole inside the Earsham Hall Estate, The Gardener’s Cottage (aka TGC ☺️) is fully equipped for up to four people to retreat from everything else and/or close enough to delve back into activities with Earsham Hall Shop Earsham Hall Antiques earshamhall_tearooms George’s Gorgeous Gardens Walrus Studios on their doorstep (almost) when the fancy takes them 🥰

If there is ever a gap between bookings, we are tempted to have our own staycation there ourselves 🤩🙏👌🏼

The Music Room Earsham Hall is certainly getting closer to being ready for guests….boxes to unpack, furniture to be positioned, beds to be made, drawers to filled….getting ready for when we launch onto Airbnb and other platforms in a few weeks.

Brought back into the fold of Earsham Hall a few months ago, this Grade I listed building, originally an Orangery and then redesigned by Sir John Soane in the 1780s as The Music Room is being lovingly bought back to life. A remarkable piece of history that we are so excited to be sharing soon with everyone and where you can actually stay and experience the serenity of what is a rather magical space!

This is Stage 1 (although in reality it feels like stage 101 😝) of us extending what we have to offer Earsham Hall in 2026.

Along with all the fabulous businesses here which provide a rich variety of reasons to visit us already with Earsham Hall Shop Earsham Hall Antiques earshamhall_tearooms George’s Gorgeous Gardens and Walrus Studios….we also have The Gardener’s Cottage full of gorgeous guests wanting to stay here Earsham Hall via Airbnb, and now TWO more places to stay with the Music Room and The Woodman’s Cottage coming soon.

We will keep you posted!!! 🤩
