The Brief
Interior Design | A luxury family home that is both beautiful and practical for everyday living

Interior Architecture | An extension, remodel and full refurbishment, including full technical drawings

Working closely with our clients, we took the time to understand how they use their home day to day. This informed every design decision, from the spatial planning and architectural detailing to the material palette, joinery and finishes. The vision was to create a light, airy home that feels effortlessly elegant while incorporating high-quality, durable materials chosen to withstand everyday family life.

HIDDEN DOOR DESIGN

Designing the layout of a small space, like a hallway, is all about practicality, simplicity and flow. We proposed a hidden door solution, seamlessly integrated into the panelling, allowing the door to the bathroom to become part of the overall design.

IN THE STUDIO WITH OUR PROJECT DIRECTOR – LAUREN 👋🏽

Hi! I’m Lauren, Project Director and the other half of Studio28 Interiors. For those of you who don’t know us, we’re a sister-led interior architecture and design studio, and Stacey and I are proud to run the business together.

With a background in client relationships, stepping into the role of Project Director felt like a natural fit. I’m usually the main point of contact for our projects, working closely with our clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure every stage feels as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

I also love being involved in the creative process, from developing design ideas and presentation packages to watching ideas gradually evolve into reality.

For me, successful projects come down to thoughtful problem-solving, often in the details our clients never even see. Whether it’s finding a way to illuminate a floating staircase or designing a bathroom where the music and lighting gently come to life as the door opens, I love finding creative solutions that bring even the most complex ideas to life.

Having a luxury home doesn’t always mean needing a large space. We worked with every corner of this 1 bedroom Edwardian property to merge functionality with luxury.

How we achieved it?
- Using light neutral colours to reflect light and make the space feel bigger
- Lighting design - task vs comfort lighting allowing the utilisation of every space
- Layering of textures to add depth
- Kitchen or is it carpentry... - designed to seamlessly integrate into the living space
- Storage - Smart hidden clothes hanging storage above the bed
- Curtain draping - from wall to wall and floor to ceiling to add softness
- Seamless flooring - running throughout the whole apartment (including the shower!)

We think of every design choice, so you get it right the first time.
