Believe it or not, it’s time to say the C word… Christmas. The 1st of September always feels like a fresh start. Summer is coming to an end, thoughts turn to home, and we start preparing for the cosier months ahead.

Interiors Crush this week is Lucinda Chambers. A British fashion director, designer and stylist. She worked at Vogue for 36 years!

‘Growing up, I was the least stylish of my friends,’ says Lucinda Chambers. ‘Homes were always my comfort zone.’ This will come as a surprise to many, given her astonishingly varied career in fashion which spans her influential tenure as fashion director at British Vogue, consulting gigs for Marni and Prada and, most recently, the launch of digital platform, Collagerie.

I have always loved and admired Lucinda’s sense of style and colour when it comes to interiors. There are no rules and her house is a riot of pattern, clashing colours, eclectic antiques and art.

I think we all need to take a leaf out of her book and throw caution to the wind when it comes to your home. It’s all about having fun!

With autumn creeping in and the festive season suddenly not feeling quite so far away, it’s the time of year when we start thinking about making our homes feel warmer, cosier and a little more colourful.
