🧶 Holiday Crochet Challenge! 🧶

While most people spend their last few days in Spain topping up their tan, Granny appears to be turning the patio table into a crochet workshop… 🤭

This little project has grown rather a lot since it first started as “something to keep me occupied on holiday”!

So before I reveal the finished piece…

🧶☀️ Holiday Update from Granny HQ (Temporary Spanish Branch!)

Remember that blue bag I finished a few days ago? Well, there was still some yarn left over… and it seemed a shame to waste it. 🤭

Fast forward a few evenings and I’ve somehow ended up with a table full of granny squares that are slowly turning into a cropped top!

The colours remind me of the sea and the sky here, so I think this one will always bring back happy holiday memories. 💙

The good news: the crocheting is going well.

The bad news: I drew the line at packing blocking mats, a steam iron and all the other finishing equipment. Even poor Mr K has limits when it comes to what Granny can sneak into the car! 😂

So for now the squares are made, the shape is taking form, and the final stitching together will have to wait until I’m back home.

P.S. Mr K would like it officially recorded that he approved yarn, hooks and vacuum bags… but NOT a travelling crochet finishing station. 🚐🤣

A little holiday crochet update 💙🌊

The finished piece has come together beautifully… all soft blues inspired by the sea and skies around me here ☀️

Not bad considering the strict yarn allowance enforced by Mr K before we left 🤭🧶

Amazing what can happen with a hook, a few balls of yarn and a beach view…

Wonder where this will end up - a market, one of the shops or maybe I’ll just use it myself 🩵

Swapped the studio view for the beach for a few weeks 🌊🧶☀️

The hooks still came with me of course… although Mr K did put strict limits on the amount of yarn allowed in the car 🤭 (thank goodness for vacuum pack bags!)

So for now it’s crochet with a sea view while I see what this little holiday creation turns into…

I’ll share the finished result in a couple of days 💛
