ShareItSunday
Here’s where you can share with us your makes. Whether they’re knitted, crocheted, sewn, etc. we love to see what you’ve been making.
This week I finally finished a little baby jumper, it had some new techniques I’ve not tried before. The scalloped edge was what drew me to make this, also the little ties on the sleeves which used the icord method, picking up stitches around the sleeve. It was worked from the top down and had two different casting off methods. Suspended cast off for the scalloped edge which was knitted in German short rows.
It did test me a couple of times because I hate reading patterns so had to unpick a couple of things and read it properly. But I’m very pleased with the final result. 🧶
Secondly, I feel I lost my sewing mojo for a few weeks, but as soon as I saw this new fabric that arrived, I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it. The lining is a Lewis & Irene brushed cotton with toadstools on (autumn vibes), we also have one with foxes. The outer is one of our needle cords. The pattern is one I have had for many, many years (about 28). that I used to make baby/toddler clothing to sell when my children were little, so I was able to work from home. This little coat was one of the items I repeatedly made 🥰 It just needs some buttons. We are working in the shop today (Sunday), so I’ll choose some buttons for it.
