Before I go off for a week 😀, a quick post to let you know that the Janome Autumn Winter 2026 offers are now available and LIVE on our website, with lots of information about each machine.

There are some really interesting offers whether you’re looking for your first machine or an upgrade … two of our favourites have special offers too 🥰

The 5060QDC and 5270QDC are both great if you’re looking to expand your quilting or dressmaking projects - both come with a big value selection of feet and features.

A heads up that the shop will be closed all next week - the body is telling me it needs a break, so after the Trade Show this weekend I’m going to hibernate at home and try to get the house straight after moving Ollie 🥰

I’ve been given a few things to look out for at the weekend but if there’s anything in particular you’d like me to look out for, please pop a comment below … and I’ll do my best!

So the shop’s open tomorrow and Saturday, but then will be closed until Tuesday 15th September. The website will be open for browsing or product information, but please note that any orders won’t be processed/despatched until the 15th.

I will check emails every evening but I won’t be monitoring the phone.

Any queries before the week off please get in touch!

The day has finally come when I say goodbye to our lovely Lorna as she heads off to Italia Conti this weekend for Musical Theatre professional training … oh my word I’m going to miss this girl, but I’m so so so proud of everything she has achieved, such a talent and a beautiful human inside and out 🥰

Thank you for making Saturdays so much fun and for helping so many of our customers with their projects, you’re an absolute star 🥰 … oh, and I can’t let you go without saying thank you for putting up with Bruno Mars on repeat!! 😂😂

Please join me in wishing Lorna the absolute very best for this exciting next chapter - we can’t wait to hear all about it and we’ll be cheering you on from Bury St Edmunds!

Thought you might like to see these two little Liberty beauties that have arrived today 🥰

Only two patterns for now as … unlucky for some - er, us … we have another 13 on order but they’ve been in such demand we’re waiting for them to come back in stock…hopefully not too long to wait!!

We’ve had another big delivery today that I can’t show you yet as it’s part of our Autumn/Winter yarns collection…for now all I can say is I think you’ll like! … big reveal mid September…

Now to put all that away for a couple of weeks!!

And we’re nearly at the end of the week again before I get on here … must try harder I know!

A couple of new things in the shop this week to tell you about - new sock yarns, accessories patterns and mini weaving looms ❤️

Behind the scenes I managed to sort out the new bins for the shop this week after the HUGEST bin ever arrived … the excitement is too much … got myself registered for a trade show coming up in a couple of weeks, looking forward to that … and I even managed a bit of knitting at home, whoop whoop 🙌

Ollie’s only been gone a week but I’m happy to report that my withdrawal symptoms will be eased on Sunday as we’re going to see Car Man at Sadlers Wells 🥰 thank heavens for the shop keeping me busy!!

I think I’ve found the coolest spot in the shop - in the corner by the 4 ply yarn - bliss! So if you see me sitting on the stool today, I haven’t been a naughty girl, just trying to keep cool I promise 😂😂

And a reminder that the shop is closed tomorrow, Thursday - not to digest A level results (good luck everyone waiting for theirs tomorrow) … Joe and I move Ollie into his new 3rd year flat, last year of his Dance course … packing all his stuff up at the mo, my baby’s leaving home! (Be warned … the ugly tears/blubbing can happen at any time this week 😂)

I don’t know where this week has gone, been busy sorting and tidying stock as new bits come in … and trying to make space for the impending arrival of Autumn/Winter yarns!

- top ups in Haberdashery and Books
- sorting out 100% wools and sock yarns in the 4 ply boxes
- Felting wool and tools back in after a lot of requests 😀
- Halloween top ups coming in next week …
- some sewing books are now keeping the knitting books company

… now to get the Christmas advent panels and fat quarters topped up for the week 💪

CHARITY BOOK SALE … Ollie’s moving out next week into a flat for the last year of his Dance course … so I’m having a bit of a sort out at home, hence the charity book sale we have in the shop - I don’t think many of these have ever been opened 😂 donations for WISH would be greatly appreciated - there are only children’s books in there, thank you for your support 😘
