Finished to a smoother surface than the original reclaimed wood, yet retaining the original rustic feel, these will add a touch of style and create a talking point in your home. It's all been a bit of a happy accident really, this new hobby! We originally put together some pallet wood coffee tables as a bit of fun, for our country style wedding reception in the summer of 2015 - to furnish a marquee in the field for our reception. Some tables went home on the day in the back of the car with family and friends, we then put the remainder up for sale on Facebook groups. They sold quickly, but as the advert remained posted, we suddenly found we had orders for several more, so we decided to go with it and make some more. We're still having fun creating from scratch - we see it all through from start to finish - sourcing, deconstructing, de-nailing, sanding, reconstruction, and hand painted artwork, all finished with a durable coat of varnish for protection. We tend to use what are called Euro-pallets. These are designed for smaller loads than the full size pallet and are usually seen as disposable. We thought this was a waste and decided to create a new life for the humble pallet as upcycled items of wonderment �
Some are close boarded, others have gaps between the planks. Some have done their tour of duty and emerged virtually unscathed. Others have what the antique experts call "Patina" !!
