Being a painter & decorator is more than just a 9-to-5 job.
From the outside, it might look like I just show up, paint a few walls, and head home. But there's a whole lot more to it.
I’m not just on the tools—I’m also the one managing enquiries, keeping up with messages, answering calls, scheduling visits, providing quotes, and building trust from the first conversation.
When I walk into someone’s home, I make sure they feel at ease. I’m not just there to do a job—I’m there to give honest advice, offer cost-effective solutions, and make sure everything goes smoothly from start to finish.
While I'm working, I’m also managing timelines, solving unexpected problems, and answering questions. Then, when the job’s done, I don’t just pack up and leave. I make sure everything is spotless and the client is genuinely happy.
Why? Because my next job usually comes from the last one. Word of mouth is everything.
And after all that, I still head home to catch up on admin, respond to more messages, and prep for the next day.
So, if you know a tradesperson—whether they’re a painter & decorator, a plasterer, a builder, a spark, a plumber, a gardener—just remember: they’re juggling a lot more than you might realise. Late nights, long days, and constant pressure to get it right every time.
Sometimes, it means the world just to hear, “You’re doing a great job.”
So go ahead—tag a tradesperson who works hard and deserves some recognition 👷♂️💪👏👩🎨
Have a great weekend guys!
