Rainscape (2026). Available at ArtGallerySW!
Rainscape has been created over several months with thickly applied paints allowed to completely dry before adding a new layer. This keeps the pigments pure and avoids mingling and ensures a unblemished relationship. The play of colour between blue and orange complement each other from the opposite sides of the colour wheel and is reminiscent of Spanish surrealist painter Joan Miro.

Shape Shifting is the third of a series of commissioned works exploring the vibrancy of purple and pink – colours that we associate with the sky – whether sunrise, sunset or the Northern Lights. In each occasion the colour is ephemeral and kinetic; a shape shifter. Here the colours have been taken out of their natural celestial environment and developed into a textural work.
