A Milestone Moment for Kitchensmiths: Celebrating Martin & Debra 🥂✨

Last night, we raised a glass to the end of an era as we celebrated the retirement of Martin and Debra!

Over 30 years ago, Martin founded Kitchensmiths alongside his original partner, Tony. While we sadly lost Tony in 2003, his legacy of installing with skill and love remains the heartbeat of everything we do. Since then, we’ve grown into a renowned, award-winning business, firmly marking our name in the region for quality and craftsmanship.

While Martin and Debra are stepping back to enjoy some well-deserved sunshine and quality time with their grandkids, the familiar faces you know and trust are here to welcome you. Our expert showroom team—Clare (our Showroom Manager & Designer), Alex and Dan Hunt (our Designers), and Rebecca (our Office Administrator)—are ready to help, with Clare and Alex celebrating an incredible 25 years with us!

Bringing those designs to life are our master installers, Simon, Dave, and Dan Pirie. With Simon and Dave hitting their 20-year milestone this year, they continue to install every kitchen with the care Tony always championed.

Six years ago, Martin and Debra’s son, Dan Smith, began taking the reins (and yes, that makes three Dans in the business!). As our Director and Business Manager, Dan is leading us into the future—though we’re sure he’ll still be "consulting" with his fellow directors, Mum and Dad, over a Sunday roast!

A huge thank you to Martin, Debra, Tony, and Jackie for starting something so special all those years ago. Here’s to the last 30 years, and the next 30 to come! 🏗️❤️

At the heart of this display is the art of perfect symmetry. Here is a closer look at the materials and innovations that bring this space to life:

🪵 Featuring stunning Sachsenküchen Fabiola units in Crema. Notice the completely seamless, bookmatched wood veneers—each front is meticulously cut and aligned so the natural grain mirrors and flows continuously across the cabinetry. We've paired this warm wood with tactile Bonita real concrete doors on the peninsula for a beautiful, earthy contrast.
🪨 The symmetry continues with a breathtaking Atlas Plan ‘Desert Soul’ ceramic worktop. We've built up the edge profile and perfectly bookmatched the stone, allowing that dramatic veining to flow uninterrupted from the surface up through the splashback.
🖤 Flavia glass slatted wall units with integrated lighting provide an elegant space to display your favourite pieces.
🧑‍🍳 The appliances are just as considered as the cabinetry. We’ve integrated a suite of Miele ovens in the sophisticated new Pearl Beige finish, a beautifully sleek Miele matt glass downdraft hob, and a hidden 'knock-to-open' Miele fridge. To finish, a BORA QVac vacuum sealing system is flush-fitted directly into the worktops.
