In the absence of the real deal this year, celebrating my own little patch in honour of the Chelsea Flower Show that kicked off today. I thought I’d share a few little glimpses of largest of our corten raised planters at the front of my house which seems to be hugely benefitting from a new automatic watering system.

Geum Mai Tai, Verbena, Heuchara Plum Pudding, various ferns, Stipa Tenuissima pony tails, Pittosporum Tenuifolium Silver Queen and a few past it deep plum coloured tulips!!!

Sadly, no time to make it to Chelsea this year 🥲 but I’ll be watching it like a hawk all week on TV and looking forward to it next year already!

Timeless interiors.

Our seventeenth century farmhouse project. Repurposed upholstery, ottoman and piles of soft, heritage fabric cushions that wholly suit this wonderfully historic building.

On a sunny spring morning in Cambridgeshire, quiet corners like this don’t shout loudly. They invite you in.

Texture, warmth and a story in every detail: aged timber, soft linen and the glow of something well-lived. This is the kind of space that slows you down (whether you planned to or not).

Good design isn’t just seen - it’s felt.

Drop me a line if you have an interiors project that is unresolved and you’d like some input.

No audio required!

Doors open, sun streaming in, shadows dancing and the most uplifting bird song. Listen to the final trill!

Projecting this is a villa in Mallorca today rather than a village house in Cambridgeshire….

Interior design isn’t really about mood boards or finishing touches. That’s the part people see. At .design, the real work happens much earlier in the process.

It’s where I’m working through the details most people won’t immediately notice, but would absolutely feel if they were wrong.

Where a light fitting sits so it works in the evening, not just on a plan.

How you move through a space without thinking about it.

The alignment of walls, openings and joinery so everything feels calm and considered.

How materials meet and where they shouldn’t.

Even the right grout width in a tile detail, because that alone can change how a surface reads.

It’s a constant process of refining, adjusting and often holding back.

When it’s done well, it feels effortless. But there’s a lot that goes into making it that way.

Three weeks of fun and thrills: an 18th birthday, Christmas chaos and some excellent switching-off on the slopes in Courmayeur (snow, panettone, coffee, Bombardinos, repeat).

And now — back at it in the studio. Slightly rested. Mostly ready. Coffee machine very firmly on.

Not one of mine but I absolutely love this design as seen in latest campaign. It features everything I’m ‘(lol) channelling’ at the moment… tray frame door fronts in rich autumnal plum shades, an oversized ceppo de gris marble porcelain floor tile, stunning heavily veined violetta marble worktops and a subtle bone glazed wall tile… beautifully styled with one of ’s amazing pieces. Sigh! I

These quince were too beautiful to ignore. Their colour, the way they catch the light, everything about them felt like still life: warm, imperfect, softly glowing. I couldn’t not photograph them.
