Home from another magical Championship and while I have my feet up (before I tackle unboxing, record keeping, organising and reboxing) i have a moment to reflect and share with you all some of the highlights from this weekend π
Our story starts after a weary fisherwoman makes the (not so long) journey up to Leicester with her catch, a golden merhorse that took three weeks and two years to tackle (sculpt and paint). The Merhorse entered into the Best Of British fairytale scene class, got some amazing positive feedback and made lots of new friends 𧑠I saw some true works of art this year (like every year) that blew me away, I'm honored everytime i qualify that I get to stand in the ring with some of the most talented and kind people In this hobby. Of course I am over the moon with my placings (Original finish, Workmanship And Custom) but my favourite part of bmecs every year is just to catch up with hobby friends, chat, explore and just be in this hobby together.
I set out to make some sales to make room in my workspace for new projects and I did that but also to my surprise and delight, I sold some custom work too, and was delighted at people's interest and enthusiasm over my pieces. (Even ones I didn't set out to sell!) So thank you to everyone that bought a piece by me, I hope you love them for years to come!
Although I had less classes this year, it didn't take away from the fun and im glad it gave me more opportunity to see everyone's herds, I've come away from this weekend so inspired and with a treasure trove of new blank resins and ideas to leave the gate open for π
