Favourite corner of the house? Yes, and here’s why ⬇️
This has always been an awkward space to work with. It sits between the open plan dining/kitchen/living room and the garden, but it also has another door to the left to the downstairs W/C & utility room.
Using the space to create a natural gateway to the outdoors whilst retaining that rock & roll maximalism signature AND still being practical was a challenge, but one I think has been successfully overcome by allowing the piano to protrude slightly into the space, allowing the lamp, curtains, wallpaper and artwork to all have their moments.
There’s enough space to access both the patio doors and the toilet door and we even have a gorgeous, leather butterfly chair just in front of the doors too.
The space is full yet uncluttered, maximalist yet directly linked to nature, inspiring yet practical.. it’s a real design success and one I absolutely love to be in.
