Job I completed end of summer 2025 outside of Sandwich.

Old boundary wall was falling apart due to vine roots growth between the brickwork and render.

All loose Render and bricks were removed.

All root growth was removed and new bricks added to create a level top.

The wall was treated and then re skimmed and painted with 3 coats of weathershield paint.
Client was extremely happy with the end result.

Just wrapped up this spare bedroom redec for one of my clients in Canterbury.

The walls and ceiling had damp with mould stains, the woodwork had yellowed and looked very displeasing to the eye.

All walls and ceiling were filled , sanded smooth , stain blocked twice using the best product available zinsser watertite .

The woodwork was face filled , sanded smooth, re caulked and undercoated twice.

Ceiling and 3 walls painted in an off white for 3 coats
And window wall became a feature wall with a darker blue grey.

The bedside table was staying but looked tatty and damaged on the top so I suggested to the client refurbing it and bringing the top in the same colour as the feature wall.

The room looks amazing, clients very happy and colour coordinating the bedside table with the feature wall was a well appreciated touch.

Another extremely happy customer st Margaret's bay

Sash windows, frames and cillls completely repaired and re painted.

Window cill was so bad I recommended replacement, i completed extensive repairs where possible and removed the vast majority of the rotten cill..

The old cill was so thick that I couldn't find a supplier to replace like for like so instead i made the cill onsite using 3 different pieces of timber lots of wood glue and long wood screws.

Once the cill was filled and sanded it was primed undercoated and had 3 topcoats to ensure protection from the elements..

The sash windows needed rotten areas to be removed and treated before filling and were then painted accordingly.

The overall finish is like new and I'm very happy to post this on my business page.

I finished this lovely house and out building just outside of Sandwich Kent 😍

It was a huge job so I've broken it down into sections starting with the outbuilding..

The outbuilding..
The centre window frame had completely rotted away and the client asked me if I could remove and fabricate a new window onsite, install and paint.. πŸ‘Œ
I removed the entire window and got to work measuring up.
I used Hutchings timber yard in Deal for all the materials required and Ramsgate glass for the glass panels.πŸ™‚
I made the window with the cill attached as the base and once was ready to install I repointed around the window and attached a damp proof membrane to the brickwork where the window will sit.

The new window fit perfectly😁 and was fixed into position.

I used a quadrant bead internally and externally for the glass panels to sit in.

Once all the glass was inplace and quadrant secured with panel pins the entire window was filled where required to cover any tiny gaps and screw/pin holes sanded and then 4 coats of a water based primer/undercoat/topcoat.

The other 2 windows needed lots of prep, glass panels replaced , filling with 2 part wood filler and sanding into shape.

The back door was totally sanded down, filled, new bottom panel attached.
All the joints were all caulked using a high end weatherproof caulk then painted In water based weatherproof opaque paint

Facia boards

The facia boards were rotton beyond repair and not aligned well either so I decided to remove entirely and replace for new ones which I installed and painted on site, but before I could do this I noticed whilst removing facia board that the timber Lintel behind was completely rotten and needed replacing urgently, so I measured up , sourced a new lintel which I treated before installing and also attached a damp proof membrane to add more protection.
πŸ€—

Once new timber lintel was in place and secured it was easy work installing new facia boards which now sat right and were aligned and joined perfectly
All facia boards were painted using the same paint for the windows and door πŸ₯°.

Side window

Side window was broken and completely useless tbh was made in such a way that the glass was just glued to the inside of the frame, and the little canopy above was rotton and beyond repair.

I removed the window and the canopy and made a new window using the same method I used on the triple window and then made a new canopy using some excess facia board so that everything matched.
Window and the canopy was painted the same as everything else.

Finally 2 small old feed hatches that could of been sanded and painted but would of looked out of place with all the new work that had been completed..
So I removed and fabricated 2 new hatches using a marine ply which was cut onsite painted and new hinges and new black handles added.

The Client is extremely happy with the outcome to say the least πŸ˜πŸ˜€

Just finished this lovely cottage in Boughton nr Canterbury . 😍

The gf rear of the property kitchen window frame had completely rotted away and the client was unable to open and close the window. πŸ™„
I removed the window and got to work removing any rotton wood on the frame, applying hardening solution and filled with a 2 part wood filler that i could drill into and re hang the window. πŸ™‚
The cill also was approx 60% totally rotten and needed removing and rebuilding with 2 part wood filler and sanded into shape.
The entire window and frame was totally refurbed and painted using a weatherproof water based paint.
The black back door was totally sanded down, filled, re pointed around the glass panel and the joints were all caulked using a high end weatherproof caulk then painted back in black.

Front of property

Both windows needed rotton wood removed, wood hardener treatment and rebuilding with filler..
Around all the panels the old putty had cracked and was missing in many places so i removed all loose putty and re did using an all purpose exterior filler which is then sanded back into shape the next day.
Both windows were primed and painted 3x using a weatherproof water based satin.

The front door was originally black and had weathered brass numbers and letter box.
I refurbed the door and frame, painted in Oxford blue using a high end water based paint called super dec..

I thought that chrome numbers and letter box would suit the blue better so a sourced the door furniture and moved the larger letters to the door frame.

And finally the brick work was prepped and filled in places and painted 3x using dulux weathershield, i then added a black plinth for splash back from the rain.

Client is extremely happy with the outcome and also had lots of really positive feedback from the local community.

January and March are completely booked up already so im taking interior bookings for February and exterior jobs from April.

Another example of what we do at Knight & Day Decor

Grade 2 listed building in Sandwich complete windows and doors refurb and masonry repair skim and paint. πŸ›

Client was looking at around 50k + for new windows and frames to be installed so I had a look and was confident we could save the windows and save 10s of thousands..😁

All of the windows and frames were in a terrible state completely rotton in places and missing putty pretty much on 80% of the sashes.πŸ€”πŸ˜’

All windows and frames had all rotten wood removed and areas treated with a wood hardener solution and then filled using a 2 part wood filler then moulded and sanded into shape to blend in..😏

All loose putty around sashes was removed and areas treated with hardening solution then re filled using a multi purpose exterior wood filler then sanded back to shape.πŸ˜‰

Both doors were completely repaired & refurbished including a very loose rotting door step.

Once all woodwork was ready for painting i applied a coat of Zinnser bin to all bare wood new putty edges, filler and any rust stains..

All of the old Masonry was stripped and the cracks were repaired then we decided for a much better and weatherproof finish to skim the entire frontage with a breathable skim coat

We colour matched the walls and woodwork and used Valspar breathable premium masonry for all the walls.
The windows were precision taped to create sharp bold lines and an overall solid looking window.
All of the woodwork had x2 undercoats of quick dry undercoat and x2 coats of sadolin super dec water based satin. 🀩

The job took around 4 weeks due to some rain delays but the finish and final result was worth it and the client is extremely happy and has already asked us back to do more work .❀

Im now started taking bookings for spring 2025 so if you think you need new windows before you go ahead and spend a fortune give us a whatsaap on 07732925950 or msg on messenger and i will see what can be done.

Enjoy your sunday πŸ’–
