5 things I did to help turn my side hussle into a full time job.

In 2021 I took the leap from side hustle to Pixie Paper being my full time job. Becoming my own boss has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

It’s still incredibly scary at times and imposter syndrome is always tapping on my shoulder, but I definitely wouldn’t change it for the world! Hopefully this helps anyone ready to make the jump too!

A few days ago I reached 15,000 sales on Etsy and keeping to tradition Mr Pixie bought me a giant cookie to celebrate!! Which lasted about an hour between me & my mini interns 🤣🫣

I set Pixie Paper Art up as a little side hustle and never expected it to grow as it has but I couldn’t be more grateful. Every order, share, review, comment, like means the world to me.. so thank you!

The saying “Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life” definitely couldn’t be more true! 👩🏻‍🎨

Happy Wednesday! Listing this little gem to my shop has been on my agenda for far too long, but this week I’ve finally got round to it! .. and it’s definitely becoming one of my favourites to craft!!

Fun fact. I did my final university project on maps, and who would have thought I would go on to creating map art for a living. 🤣

Wrapping up January at Pixie HQ! This month was a masterclass in balancing business and motherhood. January’s quieter chaos was surprisingly productive, and I’m ready to take on 2026 after a brief breather from Christmas!

Happy Friday!

I’ve spent this week juggling my time between two small humans 👶🏻👶🏻, creating all your lovely orders and crafting up new designs, and here’s the first!

Celebrating teachers, I have created quite a few different promotion/retirement frames for many different professions. But this one is definitely one of my favourites, with its cute mini pencil.. the perfect little end of year gift for any teacher! 🧑‍🏫

Hello 👋

It’s been a while since I’ve said hello! After having a little one, Instagram definitely took a back seat, and now we’ve just welcomed in our second one things are about to get even busier, but I definitely wouldn’t have it any other way!

A quick little catch up, we’ve finally finished Pixie HQ’s new office space, (a Pixie HQ studio tour is on the way)
We hit 13k sales on Etsy 🙌 and I have an exciting new design coming this month
And of course welcoming Pixie’s second intern into our family last month 👶🏻

Happy Wednesday- this week is absolutely flying by we had such a lovely Easter weekend, even though most of it will be spent crafting orders, catching up on admin & keeping the cogs of Pixie running, as there is truly no rest for the self employed 🤣🤣

Happy Friday!! … and Happy New Year,! It’s been a long time since I’ve popped on to say hi!

The end of 2023 was a busy one, all your Christmas orders kept me so busy! I’ve also been unpacking the new studio after the move, which is slowly coming together, who’s up for a little tour when it’s done?

Lots of exciting things planned for 2024, such as finishing decorating Pixie’s new HQ and listing lots of new products. I have quite a few newbies coming this year so watch this space and training up Baby Pixie to be Pixies newest apprentice.

Meet the maker Thursday! Celebrating 2 years of self employment so I thought it was time for a little Pixie Paper Art catch up!

This year, I hit 10,000 sales on Etsy which was a huge milestone for my little small business, we also gained a little mini assistant 👶🏻🍼but after 3 weeks I had to get back in the studio as I missed it too much! And finally Pixie HQ’s studio is getting an upgrade as we move house! .. so blessed to have this little business, so thank you for all your orders, likes & shares it means the world!

Happy Tuesday!! I’ve had a busy weekend creating loads of family frames ready for Christmas! These are my absolute favourites to make, I love lining up all the little family members in different colourful papers .. Did you know you can add your pets to the frame too, as of course they are definitely part of family!
