We were so pleased to welcome Sam back from her holiday in Scotland, and she’s straight back into the kitchen creating another delicious menu for everyone.
A huge thank you to the Bwyd Sir Gâr Food project for donating an amazing selection of tomatoes and courgettes. Donations like these help us reduce food waste while serving fresh, seasonal meals in our pay-what-you-can community canteen.
On Thursday evening we had the privilege of catering for the annual gathering of Achub Y Tywi, a brilliant local group working to protect and restore the River Tywi. If you care about our local environment, we’d really encourage you to check them out and see how you can get involved.
Did you know we also cater for private events and community groups? These bespoke bookings help generate extra income to support Cegin Hedyn, so if you’re planning a meeting, celebration or gathering, we’d love to hear from you.
Today our volunteers had another productive day on the allotment. We planted chilli plants, parsnips and more chard, harvested runner beans, French beans, courgettes, cucumbers, potatoes, salad leaves and raspberries, composted last week’s food waste, and spent plenty of time watering everything in this warm weather. It’s so rewarding seeing more and more of our own produce making its way from the allotment straight onto your plate.
🥣 This week’s menu
Tuesday: Fali Dal made with our freshly harvested French beans.
Wednesday: Courgette, Beetroot & Potato Ratatouille featuring our own homegrown potatoes.
🍰 And by popular demand… our famous chocolate cake is back!
We’d love to see you this week. Come along for a delicious meal, support your local community canteen, and pay what you can.
As always, if you can give this post a like, comment or share, you’ll be helping more people discover Cegin Hedyn.
See you soon! 💚
