The beautiful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is well located for touring the Lake District & Yorkshire Dales National Parks & the Trough of Bowland. Darcy House, a Grade II listed Georgian building, is nestled in the historical centre of the the town, overlooking the famous Ruskin's View & surrounding fells.
I became the "guardian" of Darcy over 15 years ago. Luckily for me, hardly anything had been touched in the house for 30+year so the renovation of this amazing house became a voyage of discovery. Uncovering original shutters behind painted panels of plywood was one such moment. I've renovated the house to the highest standards whilst retaining many of its original quirky features including; oak beams with carpenters markings, original shutters & remains of hand-painted Victorian wallpaper in the hallway to name but a few! The addition of the garden room opens up the secret walled garden, truly a gem providing a quiet private retreat.
Recently opening up my home to visitors, Darcy House offers a wonderful experience with an eclectic mix of carefully chosen fixtures & fittings coupled with handpicked antiques & objects d'art. The cottage has three double bedrooms and three bathrooms and sleeps up to six. Providing the perfect venue for a small gathering of friends or family or even a romantic break.
