Remember Maud Fitzroy Montague that I purchased recently? Well, I've just ordered the fabric to make her an Edwardian style skirt complete with a 'bustle pad' so that we can display all the lovely tops that we have in storage at the Museum. I've already made a calico toile, which I'm going to repurpose as the lining so as not to waste it as it took 5 metres of fabric! Maud has an enviable 22 inch waist, so I won't be borrowing it to wear on Heritage Open Day later in the year! 🤣

I feel like I didn't achieve much last month, but actually, I managed to:
Listen to three audio books 📚
Reignite my sewing mojo with some embroidery 🪡
Make a toile for an Edwardian skirt (more on that later!)🧵
Tie ribbons on my 'fairy tree' and make wishes 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️
Take a trip to London for Chelsea in Bloom🌺
Buy plants and tidy my garden⚘️
Enjoy the sunshine! 🌞

Looking forward to seeing what June has in store!

I picked up this genuine Edwardian beauty today for our local museum, but I love her so much that I'm tempted to keep her for myself! She's beautiful just as she is, but I can't wait to see her adorned in a beautiful gown, and I've named her Maud Fitzroy-Montgomery - as I felt it was fitting given her age.
