In Georgia, the pro-russian government passed a ‘foreign agent law’ limitting peaceful protests. So thousands of Georgians came out on the streets of Tbilisi. The super long Rustaveli street is full. Waving EU flags and shouting ‘Russian warship, go f**k yourself and Putin - khuylo!” They are being water cannoned and pepper sprayed by the police. Please amplify Georgian voices. Time to stop the russian pan eurasian project, reviving the putrid soviet ghost. Nobody wants your russki mir of inperialism, genocide, ecocide, misogyny, kleptocracy, the list goes on. Georgian Summer Feast Nights🍷

Finally, our Georgian Feast nights are back! And our event in Caversham this Friday evening will be our first since the pandemic. Next day on Saturday we will be hosting you again in Henley-On-Thames.

As it’s summer, and as warm here as it is in Georgia, we’ll be tailoring it around a traditional Georgian summer table. That means barbecue, cold plates, hot sharing plates, fresh fruit and of course our famous khatchapuris! We can cater for vegans and vegetarians, too.

The price is £35 per person, including a glass of iced chilled Georgian amber wine. You can also bring your own drinks, with no corkage charge.

Another Tkemali (ტყემალი)sauce sampling day today. This one has more damsons(ღოღნაშო) and cayenne chillies and for that it’s more rich and subtle, but also piquant .

Kartlis Deda (aka Mother of Kartli/Mother of Georgia) is a 20m aluminum monument in Tbilisi/Georgia, created by Elguja Amashukeli in 1958. In her left is a bowl of wine to greet those who come as friends, and in her right a sword for her enemies.
