Our September newsletter is now live!

We really enjoy working on complete home renovations, but one of our core offerings will always be bespoke soft furnishings, which is what we have delved into this month.

We have a small team of seamstresses and craftsmen who lovingly create the furniture, cushions, blinds and curtains we design.

Join us for coffee, tea and cake, and the chance to support an incredible cause.

September is always a month of new starts, with children moving on to the new school year. For some families, the new school year milestone is bigger than usual, as their kids are preparing to not just move up a year, but out of home!

Immy, who has been part of the Hiltingbury Interiors team during her gap year, is about to make this move herself, and has written a blog with her with advice and thoughts on decorating university accommodation. Included is a Hiltingbury Interiors approved shopping list, helping you start that all important process.

Most university rooms don't come with much character, which just makes the design process even more important! Building spaces which we can thrive in is just as important in a family home as a student room.

When we asked Darren from Searle and Taylor for kitchen top tips, he simply had too much knowledge and advice to fit into our newsletter... so we just had to give him a blog of his own. If like us you are unfamiliar with the term "bantry" or "appliance garage", simply take 5 minute of your day to read Darren's blog, and prepare to expand your kitchen cupboard horizons!

Our August newsletter is now live! This month we've been chatting about getting ready for university, and taking time to reflect on how your home will work for you through the seasons ahead.

If you have an autumn project on your mind, such as bringing warmth into your home for the colder months, or exploring practical upgrades such as air conditioning and window filming to help combat extreme heat, now is the ideal time to get a project booked!

Furthermore, this month's newsletter shone a spotlight on something not interiors based at all, but a local community initiative we are proud to support, Parkrun Jr at the Hiltingbury Rec. Every Sunday at 9am families from across the Chandlers Ford area are coming together, encouraging kids to get outside and exercise, whilst having fun at the same time! I always say your front door is the handshake of your home.

It is the first impression of your property, and yet we often meet clients willing to comprise on this crucial element. We would strongly suggest: don’t!

A good front door should both complement the homes architecture, whilst making people look twice for all the right reasons. As our clients showed us here, it also becomes a moment to do something really special and unique.

Just sat here reminiscing about our recent little girls mini break to Nestled Stays near Arundel.

Despite checking out a place thoroughly before booking any accommodation, I always worry that places won’t live up to expectation on arrival. As an interior designer I notice all the small design details, not just aesthetically but importantly from a practical and functional perspective too…it’s an occupational hazard!

I’m please to report that the design and layout of the conjoined shepherds huts at Nestled on the Green, is exceptional. So well thought through, they’d thought of everything. It’s perfect for warm summers evenings, but we also sat and talked through how guests could enjoy the outside dining and cinema space in the cooler autumn and spring months, and we couldn’t find reasons you wouldn’t still be able to enjoy the spaces, with the clever screening and heater -
It’s worth noting there is also a small inside living area with long burner and Tv, so you have somewhere to cosy up if it’s blowing a hooley outside!

It’s worth thinking through who you take with you though…This place is best suited to people who are happy to chill, reading a book listening to breeze the trees.
It’s a restorative little corner for calm, peaceful people who don’t need lots of space, noise or entertainment!
