A Regency house asks for a kitchen with gravitas, and here it lies at the hearth. We commissioned a substantial Portland stone mantel, hand-finished by local artisans to lend an immediate sense of history and permanence. This key architectural feature holds the room with gentle authority, while the classic black AGA sits within the alcove lined with delicately hand painted Delft tiles depicting English garden flowers - a pairing that brings the spirit of an inviting country home.

Part of a wider restoration of the significant Grade II* estate in Gloucestershire, our entirely bespoke kitchen has a quiet authenticity rooted in the era whilst feeling effortless for daily family life.
What makes it work is the balance - architectural grandeur softened by materials chosen to age with grace, designed and hand crafted here in Somerset for generations to come.

Crafted in Somerset, this entirely bespoke boot room for a private Regency estate in Gloucestershire stands within a long tradition of British craftsmanship in service of daily life.

Welcoming guests with warmth and ease - a place to pause and unlace muddied boots beside the fendered fireplace. The bench seat offers a comfortable perch with views over the grounds; its seat lifts to reveal generous storage beneath, keeping the everyday beautifully ordered.

Above, deep alcoves hold baskets and blankets, reached by an elegant blackened-steel ladder that continues the crafted language of the haberdasher-style drawers inspired by a tailor’s workshop. Discreetly inset wardrobes sit behind tongue-and-groove panelling, their brass ventilation grilles allowing air to circulate to ensure freshness when storing outdoor clothes.

With its first winter underway, the space comes fully to life - coats and hats gathered by the door, the hum of conversation, and the comfort of returning home from a brisk walk.

Modern Art Deco dream kitchen...

Our aim for this project was to help the client express who they are through their home. Our design also had to fit with the immaculate precision of the rest of the house.

We introduced stylised shapes and forms and a warm palette of materials that unite – bringing warmth and charm to make the kitchen the heart of the home.

The kitchen needed to strike a delicate balance. It had to be open, inviting, and accessible to all, embodying the spirit of inclusivity.

It is now a culinary theatre where chefs can perform their magic, a place where the act of cooking becomes an immersive experience, and where guests can engage with the cooks and each other.

A glimpse of an exquisite project that we recently completed at The New Institute in Hamburg.

It's not a domestic kitchen so a bit of a departure for Artichoke but it bears our hallmark of meticulous attention to detail.

Our holistic approach to design unlocked the room’s full potential - creating a space that feels completely resolved.

The idea for this project - a picturesque farmhouse nestled in the Surrey Hills - was to create a large, peaceful family space in which to cook, eat and relax by incorporating an adjacent barn.

We designed a kitchen that would complement the exposed rafter structure rather than compete with it and chose oak for the cabinetry, with a subtle antiqued colour wash that emphasises the natural honeyed tones of the beams above.
