Last night we had the pleasure of hosting members of the Chief Engineers Office from for a private pottery class! ✈️

When your work involves lots of deep thinking and calculating there’s nothing quite like getting stuck in some clay to give your mind a break! Everyone did such a good job - just look at the range of designs and colours!

After enjoying their class everyone got to enjoy delicious food and drinks from (the lovely venue!) before enjoying a lucky window of sunshine outside~!

Thank you so much for being such a lovely group to teach! (Especially to the many of you visiting us all the way from the States! 🇺🇸)

Last weekend we had the absolute pleasure of making another trip over to Hereford to visit the wonderful Studio for a day of Raku!

Led by the talented and knowledgeable dream team (.makes and .b_ceramics) it was an incredible day of learning all about the Raku process including different techniques and the ever important health and safety steps!

We also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Adam, founder of (whose beautiful colourful pots are featured here - thank you Adam!)

A huge thank you to for another amazing day of clay, fire, laughter and delicious snacks~! 🔥

A very Happy Sunny Friday to you all~! ☀️

For us Friday usually means it’s time for Beginners Throwing classes! When our lovely beginner potters arrive for this class they often feel a combination of excitement and a little bit of nerves - perfectly normal when trying something completely new!

Those nerves soon disappear when they realise they are in good company (surrounded by beginners!) with a supportive teacher (who makes things fun!) with plenty of time for attention (being only one of six students!)

If you fancy coming for a throw our summer classes are available to book now~!

Busy this summer? Our September classes might be coming very soon… 👀

Anyone else feeling hot? 🥵

It’s amazing the difference a couple of days make! We had a good old chuckle looking at the difference in outfit from loading to unloading - winter boots and a fur-lined coat to dungaree shorts and sandals!

Of course that’s nowhere near as impressive as the gorgeous work that came out of this glaze firing! Lots and lots of ceramics from our independent potters as well as work from throwing classes and our recently finished 6-Week Beginners Hand-Building Course!

What kind of pottery would you want to add to the kiln?

We’re back this Sunday (May 24th) for the Suffolks Market~! ()

We have yet another incredible line up of new independent potters displaying their beautiful ceramics for you to browse!

This stand will feature the work of Emma (.by.emma), Ewan and Wendy ()!

As promised this year, every Potthouse Collective stand will be completely different so you need to find us at every market if you don’t want to miss out!

(As if we need to give you any more excuses for coming out and enjoying the good weather this weekend! 😉)

The market will be on from 11am - 4pm and will take place on the Suffolk Parade!

Is it TIME to admire these beautiful clocks?

Yes. Yes it is.

These gorgeous clocks are the result of our ‘Daylight Savings Clock Class’ - a special class that we only hold when the clocks are going forwards or backwards!

This isn’t just because we love a good pun (we do!) but also because these clocks take a deceptively high amount of work to fire, glaze and fit with their mechanisms!

Of course the efforts are worthwhile when we get to see these beautiful results - want to get on the next clock class? You better keep an eye out this Autumn! ⏰

Join us for a re-stock and a little look at some of the selection of glazes we provide in the studio for our potters to use~!

We promise this isn’t sponsored by (though we would certainly be open for a chat if you’d like to support a not-for-profit pottery studio guys! 😉) - while we also have a large range of dipping glazes and other brands of brush-on in the studio we love seeing the creative combinations our potters achieve with these glazes!

What colour would you choose first? Any favourite combinations you’d like to share? Let us know in the comments~!

A week ago our infinitely talented team member taught her wonderful Bird Sculpture One-Day Workshop~!

Over the course of a sunny Saturday Ella led her potters step-by-step through the process of creating their own realistic birds! As with all things pottery the process was more challenging than it initially seemed but the potters did incredibly well - creating their own flock of beautiful bird sculptures while enjoying a day of mindful pottery!

Would you like us to run this course again? Let us know in the comments~!

(We’ll start batting our eyelashes at Ella now! 😘)

If we say ‘Kiln Furniture’, what comes to mind?

If you’re not familiar with the world of ceramics you may be imagining a table or shelf that somehow fits a kiln! In reality, it refers to the amazing kit that survives every 1200+ degree firing!

Last week we had a long overdue ‘Kiln Furniture Maintenance’ Day! A full-on day with all hands on deck (including our team of wonderful studio assistants!) with every shelf dremmeled and painted and every prop sanded - ready for many many more firings of beautiful work through our studios~!

It’s hard work and we’re so incredibly grateful to our incredible crew for taking on the rough jobs with a smile! (Including and ❤️)
