Just received some incredible photos from the mascarade at mcm of my maestro. The way that helloimfran has captured the incredible movement of my jacket and how the light catches the fabric as I move.
Thank you mcmcomiccon for the opportunity to share my cosplay on the main stage on the Saturday.

My incredible wig was from keshleysheadshop, I worked with the amazing Kesh to create the “Maestro Nova” wig and then styled it using only hopes, dreams and Got2Be 😂. The wig has no inner structure it is just steamed, teased and curled into place creating the iconic look of thejinkx as maestro in the Doctor Who episode “the devils chord”

✨wig commissions are OPEN✨

For the braid I used a combination of cut fibers from the other wigs and braiding hair to create the voluminous dragon braid. The slick back sides were created using crimped hair that I then steamed and glued in place using UHU glue and Got2Be hairspray.
The gold hair accessories were from Amazon.
I used a combination of hair elastics and purple cable ties to secure the braid and a tule shield in a glitter purple to ensure that the length of the wig is tangle resistant.
I shaded the sections of the complete braid using eyeshadow and set it in place with more Got2Be hairspray. The tule shield does not go the full length of the braid, it stops about half a foot from the end of the braid to allow for a more natural look to the end of the hair for photos.

I am incredibly proud of this wig as my first commission. There are a couple areas that I will be tweaking for the person before the next event like trimming the nape further and contouring the wig around the ears.

First time making a helmet style wig for durability. The braid measures 150cm from the nape of the neck. For this wig I used a lace front and non lace front wig as well as 5 bundles of light purple braiding hair.

Overloard nifty, handmade cosplay

I’m so proud of this cosplay, there are still bits that need to be improved and remade but I have come so far in the last year alone with my sewing and costume making. The wig is constructed using two map of beauty wigs that I deconstructed and sewn together before crimping and styling. I can’t wait to have nifty 100% finished with the props and other bits and pieces I plan on adding.

I won the cosplay mascaraed at the Animeleague Exeter Anime and Gaming Convention wearing this cosplay on Saturday and I was so happy and in shock. Thank you to everyone who complimented my design and construction.

The skirt is inspired by one made by gettheetothestitchery as well as the use of sashiko embroidery on the apron.
The top is made altering a free pattern from Mood Sewciety.

William Hartnell, The first Ducktor as a Smew.

I decided on the Smew for the first Ducktor as the breed typically has long head feathers which I thought reflected the longer hair of the William Hartnell’s doctor. Today marks 50 years since the death of this doctor so to celebrate his life I wanted to share my version of his doctor.
