The last 2 weeks were a roller coaster of emotions for me. I was asked by a lady customer to make a unique jacket for her for a special event. She provided the fabric and a photo of the kind of thing she would like which was a patchwork and applique design. She didn't want it the same ad the picture but when I tried to define some sort of design my customer gave me free hand. The fabric, although not your usual craft cotton but a polyester stretch weave, was harder to work with, but on the other hand it didn't fray. It was a slow start and the first few days almost overwhelmed me. After a few days days though creativity started flowing and the ideas kept coming until late into the nights. The work was done over a 3 week period with most of it done in the last few days. There comes a point when you almost don't want to stop because you're afraid that the next idea would be forgotten if you went to bed.

Out courses are on Wednesday evenings 7 to 9pm, Thursday mornings10-12 or at the end of the month we have a 3 day Sewing Summer school July 27th to 29th, 3 days of Sewing from 10am to 4pm.

Our Sewing Summer School is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in sewing and creativity, whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience.

You can choose to attend for 3 days, 2 days, or even just 1 day, making it flexible to fit around your summer plans. During your time with us, you will work on a larger project with full guidance and tuition throughout. Even beginners can achieve impressive results and create garments such as a pair of pyjama bottoms, a skirt, or a very simple top.

Along the way, you will learn valuable sewing skills including using a sewing machine, understanding patterns, cutting fabric correctly, and garment construction techniques in a friendly and supportive environment.

Our Summer School is a fun, creative, and rewarding experience, perfect for building confidence and developing new skills over the summer. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Our Wednesday evening sewing class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn to sew in a friendly and creative atmosphere, and is especially popular with a younger audience. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience, the class offers the opportunity to develop your skills at your own pace.

If you are new to sewing machines, you will be guided through a range of enjoyable projects designed to build confidence and teach essential techniques. You will learn how to estimate fabric, cut out patterns correctly, and construct your projects with step-by-step tuition throughout.

As your confidence grows, you can begin exploring the areas of sewing that interest you most, from dressmaking and upcycling to patchwork and smaller creative items.

What’s great about the course is that you can continue for as many 6-week blocks as you wish, allowing you to build your skills and creativity over time at a pace that suits you.

There are a few places up for grabs in our sewing classes. These are on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm and on Thursday mornings from 10-12am. We'd love to hear from you, whether you're a beginner or have already had sewing experience. If you're interested, why not drop us a line?
Our crochet class on a Friday afternoon 3.30 to 5pm is also taking off. If you want to get going at hooking it you can join for a minimum of 4 lessons to begin with
