She's back! 🤍

Last year we said goodbye to Jess for her most exciting project yet and we meant every word. But we are so happy to have her back in the studio, mug in hand and ready to go!

The tiny socks chapter is well and truly underway at home, and now the mood boards and design meetings are back on the agenda here.

Welcome back, Jess - the studio hasn't quite been the same without you. 🌿

Before you see the picture perfect room, there’s all of this… 🏗️

Site visits, coordinating trades, walls coming down and going back up again. It may not look like much right now, but this is what months of careful planning looks like in action.

This is the part of the process that doesn’t make it onto the mood board and we’re right in the middle of it, with plenty more still to come! People often underestimate just how much goes into a project before anything starts looking like your saved Pinterest board 📌

We may have shrunk since last year…
the award is the same size, we promise! 🏆

For the third year running, we have been named Interior Design Company of the Year. We're a small team (also in height, clearly) so only Kelsey and I were able to make the photo, but this win also belongs to Jess, Neil, and the brilliant suppliers and trades who help us deliver beautiful homes that are brilliantly managed.

It's a recognition that the way we work genuinely matters, not just the rooms we create at the end of it.

To our clients - thank you for trusting us with your homes and letting us do what we do best. We're raising a glass to you all 🥂

Most people think full-service interior design is about choosing colours and furniture 🛋️

In reality, it's about managing hundreds of decisions, suppliers, trades, and project details - so you don't have to.

Design, specification, procurement, trade coordination, project oversight, installation. That's what a full-service actually covers, and understanding what’s not included is just as important.

We've just published a plain-English guide to what's included, what's not and whether it's the right fit for your project.

You’ve budgeted for the renovation. But have you budgeted for what goes inside?

Furnishing a home properly is one of the most consistently underestimated parts of the process and one of the last things people think to plan for. A built-in wardrobe that feels like a £3,000 job is closer to £13,000 made to measure. A furnishing budget that felt generous on day one can turn out to be roughly half of what’s actually needed. 🤯

The rule of thumb? Plan to spend 10-25% of your property’s purchase price on furnishing it - on top of any building work.

We’ve just written an article explaining exactly how it works, with a real worked example for a Cotswolds property.

What does £150k, £250k or £500k actually get you in a Cotswolds renovation? 💷

Most homeowners start a project with a rough number and a Pinterest board, but rarely an honest picture of what that number actually buys. Structural changes, bespoke joinery, kitchens, furnishings, lighting - the figures vary more than most people expect, and the areas most consistently underestimated aren't the building work. They're furnishings, lighting and window treatments.

We've written an honest, local article on what each budget level realistically delivers, and where the money really goes.

From the design board to installation day - this is what a project with The House Ministry actually looks like! 👀

Every detail is thought of long before anything reaches the house. Fabric selections, material samples, site checks, trade coordination and then, finally, the moment it all comes together.

We work with a trusted network of local specialists at every stage. Electricians, upholsterers, joiners, flooring experts, lighting suppliers - skilled people whose work forms the backbone of every finished interior.

The process matters as much as the result. ✨

To mark Small Business Week, we wanted to take a moment to recognise the people who make our projects possible 👏🏻

As a small business ourselves, we understand the value of the network around us. Every home we transform is built on the skills and dedication of local specialists, people who take real pride in their work.

Here's just some of the businesses we work alongside:

Accessories sellers · Architects · Artists & galleries · Artwork installers · Bedlinen suppliers · Builders · Cabinet makers · Carpet fitters · Cleaning services · Courier services · Curtain & blinds fitters · Curtain & blinds makers · Decorators · Electricians · Fabric makers · Flooring specialists · Furniture makers · Furniture restorers · Garden designers · Gardeners · Glass & mirror makers · Handymen · Hardware suppliers · Insurance services · Joiners · Kitchen fitters · Laundry services · Lighting suppliers · Plasterers · Plumbers · Printers · Removals · Storage providers · Stove fitters · Structural engineers · Upholsterers

Each one a small business. Each one part of the story 🤍🏡

Small Business Week is here. Our Project Scoping Sessions are live, with something new included this month.

If the timing isn't quite right, we're always happy to talk it though.

Before you brief an architect, appoint a builder, or choose a kitchen - there's a piece of strategic thinking that should happen first. It almost never does.

Our Project Scoping Session defines your brief, gets your priorities in the right order, and gives you an honest picture of what the budget actually needs to look like.

For Small Business Week this June, we're going a step further: before your session, we consult with our preferred construction partner on your specific project, so every recommendation is sense-checked against practical building reality, not just design thinking.

4 sessions available. Must be booked in June. From £850 + VAT, with the construction consultation included.
