The period features were always going to be the heart of this room.

The beautiful proportions, tall sash windows, original fireplace and decorative cornicing gave us such a lovely foundation to work with. We wanted the new joinery to feel as though it had always belonged here, while adding a more contemporary layer to the space.

We designed the bespoke alcove units with a combination of warm walnut and a soft painted finish, creating contrast and character without competing with the original details.

A careful balance of old and new and a room that feels completely at home within this beautiful period property.

There’s something quietly inviting about a glimpse through a doorway a sense of calm that draws you in.

A favourite chair, the edge of a painting, soft light falling across the floor. You don’t need to see the whole room to want to step inside.

It’s a view I always think about when designing a home. How the colours sit alongside those in the next room, what catches your eye and how the spaces feel connected while each having a character of its own.

Just a few weeks ago this room was our home gym but as it was no longer getting much use it was time for a change.

It has now been transformed into a cosy, inviting snug filled with earthy tones, layered textures and plenty of warmth and we are delighted how it’s turned out.

Things I love about my walk-in dressing room and en-suite 5 years on from the renovation…

•Planning the lighting so it comes on automatically it both areas when entering the spaces at night
• Installing a pocket sliding door with a mirror on the dressing-room side
• Adding integrated lighting to the niche display area
•Going bold with the colour and carrying it across the ceilings too
• Choosing subtle, timeless wall lights that don’t feel too trend-led

It’s often the practical details planned early on, that make a space feel really special to use every day. Happy Sunday all enjoy the sunshine

A little bit of sunshine goes a long way…..

Thinking about adding an arch….then this might be your sign….from bookcases to breakfast bars and doorways it’s one of the simplest ways to introduce architectural interest and timeless charm.

We used an arch here to transform what started as a long featureless room with no real focal point. It now draws your eye through the space, creates a beautiful sense of balance and has completely changed how the room feels.

The kitchens that stand the test of time rarely follow trends.

Instead they rely on thoughtful design.

• A colour palette with longevity
• Natural materials that develop character.
• Bespoke cabinetry designed around the way the family lives.
• Layered textures that add interest without overwhelming the room.

This is exactly why I always encourage clients to invest in the design before choosing the finishes. When the foundations are right everything else falls into place.

It’s the one that quietly draws you forward.

Great design isn’t just about creating beautiful individual rooms it’s about how they connect. Thoughtful sightlines, repeated colours and carefully styled moments create a home that feels calm, cohesive and effortlessly timeless.

Sometimes it’s the smallest details a fireplace, fresh flowers or a mirror reflecting the room beyond that leave the biggest impression.
