Natural wood, metal, marble and cotswold stone - a warming and tactile kitchen for a listed Cotswold stone cottage. This kitchen was designed for slow morning coffees alone and cocktail shaking evenings with friends. Mines a Dark & Stormy by the way - yours?

A cosy Cotswolds cottage for an American client of ours. I still adore this wallpaper which we added on all walls including wrapping it around the built in wardrobes. There’s something lovely and cocooning about being in one of these nook beds with the built in little shelves either side for your morning tea

Nothing left to chance ✏️ Mr De Niro was planned for this space for a long time and so the tiles were carefully drawn up in detail, by Sam, to perfectly frame this artwork and create a feature of this wall. This is a recently photographed project just outside of Bath with

The slickest kitchen for a very cool couple. There is a disco ball hiding just out of sight in here 🪩

The kitchen in this project needed a little careful spatial tweaking to make the angled wall have less of an impact on the feel of the kitchen and, although colour was used sparingly here, we went big on material contrasts - from the stone cobble floor, to the stainless steel island, oak cabinetry and the absolutely beautiful paint on all the walls.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just through the glazed screen at the back you’ll find the breakfast table with a cosy curved banquette seating area and an injection of colour into the mostly neutral scheme with the green encaustic tiles on the floor.

Ad. We are thrilled to have been invited to style a warm, layered moodboard for the launch of new Malone collection - a beautifully refined contemporary kitchen that feels architectural yet incredibly calm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Malone’s clean-lined cabinetry provides the perfect foundation for a more wellness-focused, natural approach to styling. Rather than competing with the design, the styling is about softening it, introducing warmth, tactility, and personality in ways that help the space feel lived-in and restorative.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Natural elements such as stone, dried foliage, and flowers from the garden introduce tactility and a connection to nature. Textiles and design details, including checkerboard, subtle striped linens, warming leather, and braided wool, add pattern, texture, and a whimsical touch.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The antique brass detailing sits beautifully against Malone’s contemporary lines, adding depth and a sense of history, while earthy paint tones and a generous wool-and-mohair rug help anchor the space. Scent is just as important; I chose Plum & Ashby’s Seaweed and Samphire for its fresh, coastal notes - a small sensory layer that instantly changes how a room feels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Styling here is intentionally effortless. Ceramics collected from travels and a simple, colourful canvas propped against a shelf introduce personality, completing a kitchen that feels calm, layered, lived-in, and welcoming.

We’re having a clear out! Next Sunday, 11th January, we’re going to be having a sale of all of the items that we’ve accumulated over the past few years. Everything from sofas, chairs, mattresses and headboards all the way down to LOTS of lamps, lampshades, handles, curtain poles and fabric remnants. We’re going to have everything out on sale from 11am - 3pm at our studio at Elkstone Studios - GL53 9PQ. Payments via bank transfer or cash on the day. Please drop a little wave in the comments if you’re going to come along so we can have a bit of an idea on numbers. 👋🏻 It should be a fun day! Come along, pick up a bargain and the wonderful team at are just across the road for great coffee and bacon sandwiches to tempt reluctant family members 😜

Possibly one of my favourite rooms that we’ve designed, and not just because of the incredible views out to sea. We’d originally planned for this to be a mostly neutral scheme but when the clients fell in love with the wallpaper in other areas in the house, we decided to add some more! The thing that I love most about it is the scale, because the wallpaper is a wide width (136cm not 52cm as with most wallpapers), it allows for a much larger pattern and repeat giving the paper this mural effect that is so striking.

I’d like to bring back some more instant to our instagram. Sometimes the beauty in the work in progress photos is just as interesting as the finished result! These are some photos from our site visit to our project in West Sussex yesterday. It’s an incredible house from the mid 19th century with close links to the local church. In the 1970’s it was split into two houses and our clients bought both sides and are now bringing it back to one house with a fantastic team of local builders. The care that is going into this property to look after it for the next 200 years is wonderful to see whenever we visit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Photo one - the exterior of the house currently being repaired and repainted
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Photo two - one of the sweet little attic rooms that we are cladding. I love these dormer windows so much
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Photo three - in the dining room these tambour shutters have been found tucked up into the ceiling. The stone is being repaired and detail added back in where it has been messed around with over the years
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Photo four - The primary bathroom and its stained glass window. We’re doing a fully marble bathroom here with and I’m excited to go and choose the marble for it next month

This barn conversion, positioned on a wonderful little tidal road in East Portlemouth, has some of the bedrooms downstairs with not huge amounts of natural light. This room in particular was large but lacking in warmth and character (swipe right to see) and so we added a beautiful character oak floor, warm neutrals and some bespoke joinery to make this room a cosy retreat for our clients daughter and her friends. I think this is a great lesson to those people who think that white is just white - there are so many variations. Just look at the difference the right one can make!

Sam and Gemma at our installation last week. Happy designers and happy clients ❤️ I couldn’t be more grateful for these women, and the rest of the team, and I feel incredibly lucky to work with them. The finishing touches are coming this week but the disco ball is up and ready! 🪩
