I thought you could all do with a bit more Koala in your lives so here she is, 11 years old and still a derpy baby

In 2016 I signed up for Edinburgh half marathon. About a month before the race, I picked up an IT band injury and couldn’t run it.

Since then, I’ve signed up for a half marathon almost every year. Various things have meant I couldn’t do them. The old IT band injury. Covid (lockdowns AND illness). Pregnancy.

Last year I got to a start line, woohoo! But couldn’t finish it because my old injury flared up 3 miles in.

Today, finally, a WHOLE DECADE after I was supposed to run my first half marathon, I managed it! Now everything hurts, but it was so worth it. I completed Cheshire 10k & Half Marathon

There’s probably a moral in there somewhere but I’m too tired, I’ll leave you to figure it out. Onto the next one!

What an awesomely fun summer! We staycationed all across the U.K., from Nefyn to Whitby to Bowness to Glasgow to Anglesey and loved every second of it. It’s been a very special few months with my little sidekick (Arty) with me the whole time, and I’ll remember these adventures forever.

My lounge got a makeover! This is the library room (because it has my most beautiful books in it) and I got a pull to paint it a bright colour. I thought about pink, then settled on this purple and I think it looks wonderful with the books. Here are a few of my favourite spots in the room. It makes me smile every time I walk in.

Welcome to my new kitchen!! Well, my old kitchen with a new lick of paint. and I sorted this over the course of a week or so with a few tins of paint and some new cupboard handles. I’ll try to do a before and after soon, but I’m DELIGHTED with the personality injection!

The idea for the green semi circles occurred to me as I was doing it, and I’m so pleased because they tie the whole thing together.

I’m currently working on a big piece of art to go on one of the green walls, and I want to do a set of two or three medium sized pieces for when you enter the room too.

Let me know if you want any paint details! We did the walls, cupboards, gloss and tiles.

Wilmslow 10k - not how I particularly wanted to spend this roasting Sunday morning, but glad I did it - and ended up getting my second fastest 10k time, too!

This year has been all about falling back in love with running and I think I’m about there. Hard work with strength training has kept my knee issues (which I was plagued with for 10 years!) at bay for a good few months, and getting rid of my fancy tracking watch has done wonders too. Now I run because it’s fun, at whatever pace I want, without caring what a watch says.

Onto the next one - my nemesis, the half marathon. I’ve no idea how many of these I’ve signed up to and not been able to do! I’m feeling positive that this time, I’ll get it done.

Thanks to Michael Young and Arty for supporting ❤️
