Nothing makes me happier than hearing that a client loves what we’ve created together! 💕

One of my favourite things about being an interior designer is helping people discover how much fun they can have with colour.

And it doesn’t have to mean painting every wall a bold shade or completely transforming your home.

For this project, we took an already beautiful contemporary space and introduced colour and personality through patterned Roman blinds and some unexpected pops of colour. Small changes that made a real difference, without losing the light, airy feel my client loved.

I love helping clients explore colours, patterns and combinations they might never have thought of themselves. Finding out what makes you happy, rather than following trends or playing it safe.

Because colour shouldn’t feel scary. It should be fun!

A beautiful fabric is only the right fabric if it works in the room, with your scheme.

For Project Hawthorn’s office/guest room, I knew I wanted a jewel-toned teal velvet for the sofa bed.

Today I’m looking at the final samples in situ, against the newly painted walls, with the other finishes and, importantly, in the room’s natural light.

They’re all gorgeous teals, but once they’re in the space the differences really show. Some create too much dark contrast, while my favourite gives us that lovely pop of jewel-toned colour while still sitting beautifully within the softer scheme.

It’s why I always like to see samples in the actual space wherever possible. Light, surrounding colours and finishes can completely change how a fabric reads and sometimes the smallest difference in tone makes the whole scheme click.
