I wasn’t planning to collect a bunch of pumpkin coloured Kantha quilts together just before Halloween….

These just so happened to be the next batch ready to photograph, totally random but maybe the pumpkin genie had something to do with it 🎃🤣

So if you like your seasonal bedcovers and sofa throws in bright yellows and oranges with bags of vintsge texture you’re in for a treat 💛💛💛💛💛💛🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

If not then I do have an outlier or two and a bunch of newly made wallet-friendly lightweight ones at the ready.

If you’re on the mailing list check your email at 9am Saturday for your preview 📩

If you’re not on the mailing list… well, get on it if you want first dibs before they go live! The link’s in my bio and I’ll put it in stories too 🧡

Is it just me who gets over-excited them can’t decide what to make? 🤣🤣

What would you create with these scraps of vintage kantha quilt?
I’m so full of ideas but haven’t had a moment to get creative myself recently so I’m living vicariously through your…

- Sunglasses cases (genius 👏)
- Roman blinds (I hadn’t thought of that one)
- Draught excluders (Cottages in Wales… need I explain?)
- Stool upholstery (I’m still working on mine!)
- Wall hangings (of course 👍)
- Cushions (some awesome patchworking going on)
- Purses (bravo for the intricate zips 👏)
- Bags (another on my to-do list!)

And probably loads more I don’t know about! Tell me if you’ve made something awesome with these!

And follow if you like a dose of creativity with your autumn evenings 🍁🍂🪡

These scraps will will be listed for you to indulge in over the next couple of days

The smaller scraps are available too! Check the links in stories 😜

Vintage all the way…

Especially when you can’t stick to one decor style for long 🙊

Do you prefer vintage to new?

It’s not even about how much it costs - let’s face it, new stuff these days is mostly cheap future landfill, not made to last.

But textiles as art - that’s where the bang for buck really is!

If you’re like me and you like your decor big and dramatic and easy to swap, then a painting the size of a quilt is waaaasy out of budget for the average person 🤑

👉 But £100-200 for an enormous quilt that deserves to be hung as art - that’s a no-brainer.

If you don’t like the look then whatever… but you can’t argue the bang for buck for size.

Comment “link” for the hanging system if you’re thinking of hanging something fabulous👇

Real hand cut leather, proper long screws, solid oak and sturdy ring clips. I can’t compete on price with plastic Amazon alternatives but I can compete on quality.

Would you hang a quilt as art? Tell me if so.. or if not!

Big delivery day! What a pretty exciting load 👏

The next vintage kantha drop is supposed to be this Saturday 10th but it’s a bit of a squeeze, I’d normally have photographed the batch by now - but I think can just about do it with some late nights 😬

If you’re new round here this is how drops work:

I send a preview to anyone on the mailing list at 9am UK time. The last few drops have almost sold out by midday before they’ve even hit the website so I figure I just need to have MORE!
Anything left goes live on the website later that evening and can be purchased any time by anyone.
Remember these are ONE-OF-A-KIND, so when they’re gone….. they’re gone 💨

So I’m not pressure selling here when I say the mailing list is worth signing up to if you don’t want to miss out! And anyway, it’s free, unsubscribe anytime 😍

Although I don’t know how many of these will be ready for this Saturday seeing as the majority will need extra cleaning and probably some repairs so:

👉 Saturday 10th Oct: Whatever I can sort and get ready by then, some miscellaneous textiles I’ve been cleaning this week and a new bunch of craft/sewing offcuts probably later at the weekend

👉 Saturday 17th: Hopefully a big selection of good kantha quilts and some more “project kanthas” for your own slow stitching/ mending/ upcycling projects

👉 Saturday 24th or 31st TBC: More Kantha and hopefully some rugs and other miscellaneous treasures

That’s about as far ahead as I plan anything really 🤣

DM me any questions, and if there’s anything you glimpsed that you like then it will be in one of these drops but I don’t know when!

And follow if you want to see more fabulous things in the meantime 🤗

If it looks like art….

👉 Hang it!

👉 Put it on a shelf!

👉Find a way to display it!

Who cares what the internet thinks. If you love it and you want it on the wall, do it 👏

Your walls deserve masterpieces. Your shelves can be art galleries.

It just takes imagination.

Follow and share if you like decor with a dose of creativity…😍

The best part of sharing these craft bundles is hearing what you make with them! 🩵💙

I’m truly obsessed with this vintage indigo dyed cotton from Laos.
Maybe it’s the variety of shades the indigo has faded to, the different textures softened with age…or the fact that as with all old, authentic things you just can’t re-create that patina.

I made bundles of smaller pieces, ideal for slow stitching, visible mending, Boro and sashiko projects. And the longer pieces. well, the only limit is your imagination….🪡🧵

My project list definitely has a full length kimono on it, some slouchy trousers and a sashiko stitched weekender bag. I have a looooooong project list…

But what would you make? I’d love to know 💙

ALWAYS go for the rummage! Dusty corners is where it’s happening 👏

The France mission was textiles, linen mainly. Drew a blank there but came home with TREASURE instead!

These are exactly the sort of oddities I call ART. Art on the wall, art in a bowl spilling over with tactile ancient things… they deserve to be on display 🖼️

The one featured is ebony, the others are a mix of other woods, some carved, some smooth, most have the Lourdes pilgrim stamp.

Look out for them on the website this weekend along with the new kantha (correction - textile art) collection 😍

22/09/2026

If only I could save them all! But some are so far gone that they really can only be appreciated after a little magic ✨

I patch and repair damaged Kantha quilts where I can but some stains are the resilient type that just won’t budge, and some damage just won’t be aesthetically pleasing no matter how many hours I spend on it 🫟🫧🧼

But they don’t deserve to be sat on a shelf slowly disintegrating just because nobody wants them!

Someone once spent days, sometimes months hand stitching each kantha in a village somewhere in rural West Bengal or Bangladesh. They were used and loved once.

Do you think whoever made these would prefer to see them appreciated as one-of-a-kind cushions now? 😍

And what else could I make?

If it’s old and damaged but beautiful and handmade and full of potential - UPCYCLE IT!Or let someone else get some ideas...

If it’s old and damaged but beautiful and handmade and full of potential - UPCYCLE IT!

Or let someone else get some ideas for what to do with it… I thought I’d list some offcuts and scraps of Kantha quilts a while back and my goodness I’m having trouble keeping up with your creativity!

If you missed out on the last batch of scraps and offcuts you’ll be pleased to know there are more on the website now 🤗

I’ve also just listed a new bunch of upcycled, one-of-a-kind Kantha cushions but really what I want to know is

WHAT WOULD YOU MAKE?

Leave a comment, I’d love to know👇😍

It just looks like any old printed tablecloth, right?

Wrong.

This treasure languished in the attic of a lady who had never travelled. Never visited an exotic land. And hadn’t been in her attic for decades. Her daughter had no idea how it got there, or what it was.

So why was a rare, hand printed, Chinese ramie textile sat up there for so long - and why? It’s not your average thing to have stashed away in a dusty corner…

One story goes that she was actually a spy, having an affair with a Chinese naval officer who brought her rare and exotic gifts from his homeland when they enjoyed their illicit encounters in the leafy suburbs of Portsmouth.

(Thank you for this wild, imaginative explanation. I’d love to substantiate it further but I feel like I might struggle to find evidence 🤣🕵️🔍)

Whatever the story (imaginary or otherwise), it just takes a little lateral vision to see the epic art potential.

What’s hiding in an attic near you? Does it have a story? Is it the statement artwork your wall was waiting for?

You never know what you might uncover when you go for a rummage…

Tell me about your surprise treasures, I’d love to know!
