Another successful project completed last week using a full sandwich system before installing this stunning glue-down LVT herringbone floor.

So, what is a sandwich system?

A sandwich system is used when a subfloor requires moisture protection while also achieving a perfectly smooth finish ready for the final floor covering. The process involves encapsulating a damp proof membrane between two layers of smoothing compound.

For this project we used:

✅ Ardex NA smoothing compound
✅ Ardex DPM 1C moisture suppressant
✅ A second coat of Ardex NA smoothing compound

This method provides a smooth, stable surface while protecting the new flooring from residual moisture within the subfloor.

Once fully prepared, we installed a beautiful glue-down herringbone LVT floor to complete the transformation.

Preparation is everything when it comes to achieving a long-lasting, high-quality finish, and this floor is now built to stand the test of time.

Another challenging one completed by FloorScape in Bristol last week! 💪

The existing subfloor was in a terrible state with some very poor levels throughout, so this job required extensive repairs followed by two coats of latex to get everything back to where it should be.

I’m pleased to say all the hard work paid off the floor is now immaculate, smooth, and perfectly prepared for whatever flooring the client decides to choose next.

Most importantly, the client is happy, and so am I! 😁
