A Hundred Stories Rustic, original vintage furniture and home accessories. Annie Sloan paint stockist. Vintage, antique and just lovely furniture and home accessories.

Mainly French, some English and all unique in their own way. Nearly all of our stock is vintage and therefore shows signs of the wear and tear it's had over the years. All of the little scratches, nicks and wobbly bits just make them even more appealing and unique.

Week seven at and we finally have running water. It’s only a copper standpipe, but honestly, it’s so exciting it deserves its own reveal reel!

Maisy’s beautiful wardrobes have been built, so we just need to source the hardware and choose the paint.

Reclaimed floorboards are also going down in the master bedroom.

The en suite stud wall is in, the new ceilings are up and the masonry stitching is complete.

We’ve even squeezed in a little kitchen planning and some lime paint colour testing, which has been a welcome change of pace.

Want to know what's going on upstairs?!

As we’re keeping and sanding the original floorboards downstairs, Jamie’s carefully lifting the lovely old boards from Maisy’s bedroom to replace some of the less attractive ones downstairs.

Maisy’s room will be carpeted, so it makes sense to reuse the best boards where they’ll be seen...

Watch to the end to see the exciting developments happening in Mollie’s bedroom… 👀

It was always quite a dark room, so we decided to add a Velux to bring in some much needed natural light.

As we started taking the plaster off the walls and ceiling to make way for it, we uncovered these beautiful old timber beams. The brilliant will lime plaster around them, leaving the original timbers exposed.

Keep watching to see how this room comes together… I think it’s going to be a good one.

A rather lovely new arrival 🤎

This beautiful, heavy French oak armoire has the most brilliant interior, making it perfect as a smaller wardrobe or a housekeeper’s cupboard.

Interior design isn't always about the pretty bits!
Yesterday was all about finding the soil pipe.
It took one Scot, one South African, two Albanians and me (the English girl!)
A lot of digging and not a lot of pipe.
In the end we cut a small hole in it and fed a fibre optic cable down to work out which way it ran.
If you're buying an old house, prepare to get your hands dirty!

Five weeks into Claire McFadyen and some of the things we weren't prepared for when we bought it...

The unexpected jobs.
The endless decisions.
The changing plans.
The moments where you question whether you’ve completely lost the plot.
Jamie somehow deciding he can have a go at absolutely anything. 😂

But amongst all the chaos, there are little glimpses of what this house could become and those are the moments that make it all feel worthwhile.

We’ve still got a VERY long way to go… but we’re getting there, one room (and one unexpected problem) at a time. 🏡
