Mainly French, some English and all unique in their own way. Nearly all of our stock is vintage and therefore shows signs of the wear and tear it's had over the years. All of the little scratches, nicks and wobbly bits just make them even more appealing and unique.

Turns out our stone steps weren’t actually grey… 😳

Another job ticked off and possibly one of the most satisfying transformations yet.

The gutters desperately needed clearing and while we were at it, we had the front steps jet washed too.

Underneath years of dirt was the most beautiful Portland stone - I genuinely can’t believe the difference.

Big thank you to Netto at Essential Cleaning for doing such a brilliant job. This isn’t a paid collaboration, just a genuine recommendation after being really impressed with his work.

Now I’m looking around for what else we can jet wash… 😂

Why we had to scrap our entire kitchen plan… 😩

Well, this wasn’t quite what we were hoping to find. Turns out the kitchen is riddled with damp. Everywhere.

The plaster needs to come off the walls, the floor needs to come up and the whole room needs to be tanked. So, essentially, by the time we’ve finished, we’ll have pretty much rebuilt the entire room.

Not exactly part of the plan, which made us question whether we actually wanted to put the kitchen back in there at all.

Day 2 + 3 of the big strip out… 🔨

We've been a little bit busy... trying to keep up with the renovation AND Instagram is a LOT!

Big thanks to the girls for getting stuck in and helping and to Jamie who's living his best life...

Once the main strip out is finished, the plumbing strip out can begin and it’s a big one. New boiler, new cylinder and ALL new pipework needed 😳

Come with us on a 60 second tour of the new house.

Before any of the renovation work really begins, we wanted to do a full tour of the house exactly as it is now, partly to show what's what, but also so we have a record of where it all started.

There’s a LOT to do, and plenty to change but also so many beautiful original features that will definitely be staying.

So, before we get stuck in… here’s the whole house in 60 seconds.

One of the first jobs at the new house: let some fresh air in.

This proved trickier than it sounded. The doors had multiple locking systems and hadn’t been opened for years, while the windows had been painted shut and then sealed behind secondary glazing for over 40 years...

Luckily brute strength prevailed 💪🏼🤣
