An unusual starting point for a retirement gift: an old alarm switch that hadn’t worked for years. 💡
My colleague Phil still pressed it every night at lock-up, so I couldn’t let him retire without taking it with him.
A golden makeover, a purchased wooden frame, some laser engraving and a little wiring later, it finally does something!
The words engraved beside it explain why:
“For years you pressed it, and nothing happened.
Now every time you press it, we hope something does.
A smile, a laugh, and a memory of us.”
One of those makes where the story means far more than the materials. 🧡
