FIREPLACE DESIGN 🔥🧑‍💻

I am designing a new fireplace for a busy family, looking for that perfect focal point to decorate this Christmas 🎄

I am doing this as part of my Full Design Service and thought I would share some of my research images as inspo.

If I am working on a period house I try and stay close to the architectural style of the period. If a contemporary home like this one, I am more flexible. This will set the tone for the entire space.

DM FIREPLACE if you would live in/near the Cotswolds and would like design support in your home.

✨ BECAUSE GREAT DESIGN STARTS WITH THOUGHTFUL PLANNING

This week I’m working with a family who’ve just bought their new home and want to make smart, cost-effective design decisions from the start. They’ve asked me to create a use-of-space plan and lighting design, both part of my Full Design Service.
I’ll be providing two key elements…

💡 An electrical plan they can hand straight to their electrician — ensuring every room is beautifully lit, practical, and perfectly layered, with sockets precisely where they’re needed.

📐 A use-of-space plan that guarantees the home flows effortlessly, without awkward corners or wasted space.

This is the kind of thoughtful, detail-led work I love — helping families make informed, considered choices from day one.

👉 If you’d like support with space planning or lighting design, I’d be delighted to help, DM me “Layout” to start a conversation.

INSIDER SOURCING FOR THE DESIGN-OBSESSED

My client’s a ceramicist, and this week I have been sourcing her the perfect lighting for our kitchen project. I wanted something that resonated, that put her at the centre of our design.

So I thought I would share this beautiful handcrafted pendant we are using by a niche Australian brand . Each piece looks soft and powdery, slightly textured and full of character. Go check them out.

Here’s to really thoughtful design, handmade pieces and going the extra mile to create your perfect home.

THE THINKING DESIGNERS EDIT 💫

Ever spent hours scrolling for the perfect piece of furniture, wallpaper or lamp — only to feel unsure if it’s really the right fit? ✨ That’s exactly where I step in.

One of the joys of my work is creating beautiful designs and sourcing those final details that pull a home together — pieces that are practical, beautiful, and deeply personal to each client. It’s time-consuming, but I know when it’s right, and it means my clients can skip the overwhelm and enjoy the results.

Starting this month, I’ll be sharing a little edit of treasures that have caught my eye — from travels abroad to brilliant local makers. Here’s this month’s round-up, from the South of France to closer to home. Enjoy! 🌿

THE BOOT ROOM RESCUE!  – the secret to a calm and happy home

Kicking off LITERALLY lifesaving work today! (almost 😉) Designing a combined boot and utility room to rescue a Cotswold family from their overwhelm. It is the engine room of a family home, when it works, then so does the rest of family life, meaning you can get on and enjoy it.

These spaces are so hard working, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be designed with flair! I will be designing bespoke joinery to perfectly fit their personal belongings, ensuring that it is not only functional but a joy to use as well 😊

✨ KITCHEN STYLE BOARD✨
I’m sharing the proposed style direction for my client’s Cirencester home — a design that reflects the vision we created together. Once signed off I’ll curate a shortlist of the key pieces for her to choose from, all within budget which will save her HOURS of scrolling, enabling her to get on with her busy life.

THE DETAILS
⭐️The house has Arts & Crafts roots, so I’m leaning into the clean lines of the Shaker aesthetic.
⭐️We’ll embrace the warmth of the terracotta tiles while cooling the palette with pale blue-green cabinetry.
⭐️A textural stone worktop with green and terracotta veining adds depth, while my client’s love of ceramics shines through handmade zellige tiles and ceramic lighting.
⭐️Soft seating and furnishings will be kept natural and tactile in a warm, welcoming palette — creating a calm backdrop that lets her beautiful art take centre stage.
👉The result? A kitchen that feels authentic, soulful and perfectly in tune with both house and client. ✨

THE THINKING DESIGNERS EDIT

The reason I do interior design is that I love creating spaces that to me are 3 dimensional pieces art that you can live in. They must be practical-as a given, then also beautiful, comfortable and super personal to my clients.

Sourcing the final pieces for any interior design project is time consuming, but I KNOW when it is right. It saves my clients HOURS of scrolling and they know with me, that they are getting THE right piece. So… going forward, each month I am going to share some of the pieces that have caught my eye. Art, furniture, lighting and so on — from travels abroad to brilliant local makers. Here are this month’s highlights, from the south of France to closer to home, enjoy!
