The Revere form was named after Paul Revere who popularized it back in about 1800.
But it was not his design
That design originated in Liverpool and Staffordshire in the UK around 1790
Hence this form was then termed the Liverpool pitcher and was very popular in the USA at that time.
The demand was so great that shiploads were exported to the USA.
But they were made of pottery
Paul Revere jumped on the bandwagon and recreated it in sterling silver
Hence the design was for ever immortalized as the Revere pitcher, but just in sterling silver.

And almost twice the weight of an average Revere pitcher. A really stunning Revere reproduction. The dull appearance on all the pics apart from the first is due to dulling spray to eliminate reflections.
