FIREWORKS NIGHT UPDATE
We’ve had some really good news behind the scenes. I can’t announce it just yet, but after all the work that’s gone into this, I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
First, let’s clear up a few rumours.
Yes, this year’s event will be ticketed. No, we are not charging for entry. We are fully taking on this added expense
Tickets are a requirement of the licensing process so they can control numbers. Our capacity is capped at 2,000 people, and we need to know how many are coming.
We ran a small trial of the booking system last night. If you booked during that trial and your tickets haven’t been cancelled, they remain valid.
Bookings are currently paused. We’ll announce ticket availability in the coming days, and free tickets will be available through our event page when bookings reopen:
https://innovationflooringdirect.com/pages/community-fireworks
We’ll share the link again here on Facebook when it’s time to book. Please wait for that announcement.
PLEASE ONLY BOOK THE TICKETS YOU ACTUALLY NEED.
Six is the maximum per booking, not the number everyone should take. We’ve already contacted people who booked six and found that some only needed two or three.
Taking spare tickets “just in case” could mean another family misses out while spaces sit empty on the night, and this will not be tolerated, Just two unnecessary tickets across 200 bookings would tie up 400 places.
We will be checking bookings. If you deliberately reserve more tickets than you need, your whole booking may be cancelled. Please don’t book for anyone who already has a ticket through somebody else. If your plans change, let us know so we can release the places.
THERE’S PLENTY TO LOOK FORWARD TO.
DJ Kat Boyle and the fantastic Jamie Wood are booked, along with the carnival.
We have a meeting tomorrow to work through the space available for the rides. The carnival is booked, but the final selection of attractions will depend on what we can safely fit within the agreed event area. Rides, games and food will be charged separately.
We cannot use the football pitches, and I fully respect that—they’re there for our community to enjoy throughout the year. That leaves us with limited space, and I’m doing everything I can to make the most of it.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS.
I want to be honest about what it’s taking to bring this night together. Making the event official has involved far more work and expense than I ever imagined. Organising tickets, keeping the website updated, paying stewards and putting the necessary arrangements in place have added thousands of pounds to an already substantial budget.
Innovation Flooring and I are covering those extra costs so entry can remain free. The overall commitment is now far beyond what I originally expected, but after three years of trying to make this happen, I’m determined to see it through.
This matters to me. I want our children to have a night surrounded by friends, family and neighbours, the kind of community memories so many of us were lucky enough to grow up with.
If you’re in a position to help, please consider making a donation when you book. It doesn’t have to be a large amount. With so many people coming together, small donations can add up to something that makes a real difference this Christmas.
Your donation goes to Whitecrook Community Action Group SCIO to help provide Christmas presents for local children and food parcels for families. It does not go towards reimbursing our event costs.
For a child to have something to open on Christmas morning, or a family to have food on the table, means far more than any fireworks display.
Donations are entirely optional. If money is tight, please come along and enjoy the night with your family. You are every bit as welcome.
Knowing we’ve brought our community together and helped local families have a better Christmas will make the work, the expense and the difficult moments worthwhile.
Please keep an eye on our updates. 100s of Tickets went quickly during the trial, and we expect strong demand when bookings reopen.
Help us make every ticket count and, if you can, help us make Christmas a little brighter for a local family. ❤️
